Favourite James Bond Films: The Dark Knight Trilogy, Mission: Impossible and any upcoming action films starring Pierce Brosnan (no, it's not James Bond which is good because he'll need it to expand his reputation as an actor, especially in the action realm)
Favourite Films: Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Star Trek, The Dark Knight Trilogy, Harry Potter, Middle-Earth, The Matrix, Mission: Impossible

At the end of DC's Bond's career in mi6, he gets killed by the tattooed-face Romulans, having stabbed though his heart. At the end of PB's Bond's career in mi6, he gets killed by Razzies Award, having stabbed though his heart after seeing his Bond' movies Bland. And chuck007 would rather die in agony than have us assist you.

If you don't believe Pierce can handle tough and dark characters, go watch Taffin, The Fourth Protocal, The Tailor of Panama, or The Matador. Except The Matador, the rest is sucked! ;D Ever seen The Long Good Friday Chucky? It's a classic gangster/crime film and Brosnan has a very early role as an IRA hitman in it. I think his body of work is not bad overall.

There were some previous posts ion this site about 'The Forth Protocol'. It's a very good film. Not as good as 'The Day of the Jackal' but similar. Michael Caine said he thought it was too wordy. But you could'nt have too much action as Brosnan was a Russian supposed to be living in Britain incognito. Anyway Brosnan's great in it, playing it cool and tough, murdering men and women while making an atomic bomb.
I liked The 'Matador'. Not seen 'Taffin' and did'nt like 'Tailor' much.
Try to back up your statements Chuck -
Why does 'The Forth Protocol', 'Taffin' and 'Tailor' suck ? Why would Cubby have sacked Brosnan after TWINE ? Why do you think Brosnan gave awful performances, when no one else does ?

Why do you think Brosnan gave awful performances, when no one else does ? okey here: The compelling nature of Frederick Forsyth's novel is utterly lost in this terrible adaptation. First, to the superficials: all the major Russians, bar Pierce Brosnan who is, after all, meant to pass as English, fail to produce even a passable Russian accent. It reminds me of the fiasco over Kevin Costner's non-existent English accent in Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves. Then, the film utterly fails to capture the Russian demeanour, as so excellently portrayed by Forsyth. More importantly, the film entirely fails to provide a meaningful context for the plot, and removes the majority of the twists and turns that made the book so great. Instead, we're treated to an example of Hollywood at its worst. It even made me realise something: for Hollywood to produce something as subtle as a Cold War spy thriller goes against the grain - such a thing requires subtlety, which Hollywood lacks, or at least fails to produce in an effort to satisfy the lowest common denominator. "Syriana" is an example of Hollywood at its best, and should be watched instead. Or The Ipcress File, a much better example of the genre, not to mention Michael Caine's acting. All-in-all, a book-to-film transfer that should never have been. in other word sucked!

Disagree Chuck. Think 'The Forth Protocol' is a good film. Quite tense, well written and interesting. Two big stars in the lead. It got pretty good reviews when it came out and Caine said what a good Bond Brosnan would make. Cubby Brocoli had seen Brosnan in 'Remington Steel' and thought he may have been too lightweight. However 'The Forth Protocol' helped change his mind. Unfortunatly Brosnan missed out in 1987.

Must admit Brosnan does'nt do much in 'The Long Good Friday'. However when first seeing it when I was boy I remember thinking what a cool dude the man with the gun looked at the end of the film.

Whatever his flaws, Pierce can take comfort in the knowledge that he was never mistaken for his own waxwork.

Is the real Daniel Craig the one on the left?

I think this is a trick question. Both are waxworks.

Did you write that IMDB review of The Fourth Protocol Chuck? Many movie adaptions of novels are not as good as the original. For example, take that ghastly adaption of Casino Royale a few years ago.
