Dougray Scott wouldn't have been bad. I remember him saying he spoke to Eon about Bond in 1999 too.

Scott is only two years older than Daniel Craig so could have done Casino Royale really if they'd wanted him.

He's 6 feet so was tall enough. I'm sure with a bit more bulk and slicked back hair he would have looked the part. His voice is very strong, unlike Daniel Craig's. He played it tough alongside Tom Cruise in MI2, then played it softer alongside Kate Winslet in Enigma. Both films around around the same time Brosnan was stalling on making a forth.
The last I saw of him was a bit part in 'Desperate Housewifes'. A pity.

He was in a new adaption of Day of the Triffids which was shown on UK tv over Christmas. He's making a film with Olga from QOS: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/There_Be_Dragons

It makes you wonder if Barbara's heart will go out of the franchise when DC moves on.

I didn't mind the idea of Worthington as a young Bond in Casino Royale. The fact that he's gone on to become a big star tends to prove that Eon are always slightly behind the curve in their decision making.

Craig will be about 45 by the time Bond 23 has come and gone.

Favourite James Bond Films: The Dark Knight Trilogy, Mission: Impossible and any upcoming action films starring Pierce Brosnan (no, it's not James Bond which is good because he'll need it to expand his reputation as an actor, especially in the action realm)
Favourite Films: Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Star Trek, The Dark Knight Trilogy, Harry Potter, Middle-Earth, The Matrix, Mission: Impossible

Depends on when the film comes out. The MGM thing is really dragging out now.

I wonder if he'll do a Dalton and walk away from it all.

Yes, but her hands are tied at the moment. I suspect we will see him play Bond again but if the next Bond film ends up being released about 4 or 5 years after QoS it would make more sense to start again with a younger actor.

There were no legal or financial problems after DAD. Even so, it still took them four years to come up with CR. I've said before that Bond 23 would have been slated for 2012. There will now be a gap of over half a decade. They will then have to make a simple decision on whether to make one more Craig film, or bring someone else in.
The triolgy idea was scrapped so there is not a story that needs to be finished with Craig in. However we all know how much BB loves him.

As long as Bond 23 doesn't release 2 years (the year after next year) from now, I'm good.
