I think everyone would agree that Daniel Craig is the most divisive Bond actor. Fans love him and hate him in equal measure. Many Bond fans cannot even bear to watch his Bond entries which is shame. He should not really have been cast if he is going to ruin Bond for many Bond fans.

I think that EON doesn't care that they are ruining Cubby's legacy. It is too bad.

Favourite James Bond Films: The Dark Knight Trilogy, Mission: Impossible and any upcoming action films starring Pierce Brosnan (no, it's not James Bond which is good because he'll need it to expand his reputation as an actor, especially in the action realm)
Favourite Films: Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Star Trek, The Dark Knight Trilogy, Harry Potter, Middle-Earth, The Matrix, Mission: Impossible

Welcome van der Valk! I won't be able to get that tune out of my head all day now! Daniel Craig is very divisive. Eon cast him as Bond and then changed the Bond formula and the tone of the films - that annoyed lots of people!

That's sadly true. There was a four year break after Die Another Day even without any legal difficulties and then Bond was changed completely. If I took over Bond in 2002 I would have made a Bond like the others in 2004.

Barbara had been plotting to dump Brosnan and put Craig in there years before it actually happened.

When did they fire Brosnan? 2004? I remember that some people were predicting Brosnan's return as Bond just before Craig was announced as Bond in autumn 2005.

No he wouldn't have...I like Hugh a lot. I have very little hope for Babs choosing a suitable candidate when it comes time to replace Craig.
