Given that the ‘Dark Knight Rises’ will be Christopher Nolan’s final Batman instalment as Director, I was contemplating the possibility of Nolan directing a Bond film. Nolan has not hid his admiration of the James Bond character and lists ‘’On Her Majesty’s Secret Service’ as a personal favourite. He is currently involved with the reboot of Superman ‘Man of Steel’ so appears to like to put his own distinctive mark on popular franchises. Nolan is also known to utilise actors/actresses from his previous films so potentially Henry Cavill could well be a possibility as a future Bond.
The sticking point is not Nolan’s reluctance to be involved but his long term agreement with Warner Bros. I’d like to think that Nolan will direct a Bond film in the future.
Thoughts???

I have a fear that Craig will be back even if the film is awful. It's the first Bond film for four years so perhaps the box office will be good. It’ll probably be released in late 2012 to avoid being destroyed at the box office by ‘The Dark Knight Rises’.

Craig is in similar waters to those faced by Sir Roger following a disappointing sequel and what can be perceived as a long layoff. Moore came back strongly in the impressive TSWLM. Can Craig do the same? I hope not, and you should do the same. Part of me wants the film to bomb so that Craig is jettisoned into oblivion, but I thinks Mendes may end up directing a good film and we'll have to endure another Craig outing

Maybe he'll get really bored in the first week of shooting and just go home to watch television and sleep in his own bed. I'm kind of hoping Mendes will get bored of Craig in the first week of shooting and recast him as a Costa Coffee waiter.

Bond 23 needs to be a success if Craig is to continue in the role. QOS has left a bad taste in the mouth (much like CR for me!).

Hopefully Sam Mendes will see sense and hire Hugh Jackman as Bond and re-cast Daniel Craig as 0013 John Bland.

My absence form the forum has not been intentional. The needs of a 10 month old baby girl and the ever changing mood swings of my 7 months pregnant wife (what was I thinking or more to the point why didn’t I engage brain - 2 kids in a year) have significantly reduced my leisure time and hence my ability to post Bondian messages on my favourite forums (DCINB and Alternative007).
Interestingly (well it was for me), I managed to catch a few spare hours over the Christmas period where my services to the ever expending Skywalker clan was not required. I decided to watch a few Bond movies and chose a select few that I deemed essential viewing. Goldfinger was my first and not only did it re-iterate how good a James Bond Sir Sean was but for me it still felt fresh and unique. I followed this masterpiece with my personal favourite ‘Live and let die’. It still amazes me how well Sir Rog takes on the role of James Bond. To follow in the footsteps of such a legend (Connery) and immediately seem totally right for the part just illustrates how good Moore was but more significantly how important it was to get the casting right.
‘The world is not enough’ was next on my list and again Brosnan felt like the right candidate for the role. I really like the story and in my opinion Brosnan just has the perfect look for Bond.
Finally, I decided upon ‘Quantum of Solace’. Why you may ask? Well 2 reasons. Firstly, I couldn’t remember what had happened in the film (wasn’t sure before watching it whether this was a good thing or bad thing) and secondly, I had recently purchased it for the grand price of 75p.
What a major disappointment!! This film is nothing short of poor and I found myself actually feeling sorry for Daniel Craig as it has such a weak script and cast. Whilst Craig is clearly not right for the role (General looks and portrayal) he was given a real turkey to work with.
I hope this current break in filming gives EON the opportunity to reflect on the Bond series and do everything in their power to hire the best director in current cinema (IMO) Chris Nolan and his star actor ‘Christian Bale’ to re-unite once again and give the franchise new life.

I think any delays attributed to Bond 23 may be down to the overwhelming disappointment of QOS. The 'Thuglike' approach which was generally well received in CR went disasterly wrong in QOS. Perhaps the fault should be laid at the feet of Marc Forster and his dire direction or perhaps the movie going audiences have just grown bored of Craig's sterile and bland interpretation.

When Brosnan became Bond, he said he loved Tim, Roger and Sean. He continually repeated this during his tenure, eventually saying while promoting TND that he 'loved Roger but Sean was his favourite'. When he missed out on Bond in 1986, Brosnan said he thought Tim was a great choice. However he did'nt want to watch TLD but was forced to by his son during a plane journey. Brosnan said he thought TLD was uneven but that Dalton did a good job. When Tim got the part he said that following in the footsteps of Sean and Roger would be a tough. A few years later he said 'Half the world loved Sean Connery, half the world loved Roger Moore, for me this was a great concern'. It's no secret that Tim wanted his Bond to be more like Connery's. Roger said in 1987 'I have'nt seen TLD and have no intention' of seeing it. He said in 1996 that he saw some of 'Goldeneye' and praised Brosnan's performance. Roger also sent Brosnan a good luck card when he became Bond in 1994. Moore recently said on Jonanthan Ross that Daniel Craig should have been given more of a chance when he became Bond in 2005. Moore has since said QOS left him confused. Connery said that Dalton did a 'damn fine job' in LTK. There is a rumour that he met Brosnan and said 'are they paying you enough ? '. Connery was interviewed on T.V. in 1983. The interviewer asked 'When Roger Moore sees NSNA, what will he think. Connery replied, 'Roger will say, perhaps Sean moves a bit better than me. But I've got more hair than him'. Both Sean and Roger are reportedly good friends and often dined out during filming of O & NSNA. They both agreed to release their rival films at different times to avoid losing money. Roger said of the supposed rivalry in 1983, 'I suppose if me and Sean stood outside the BBC studios and a man with a gun went BANG, you could call it a competition, but there is no competition'. All the Bonds except Connery attended the DAD premier in 2002. All the Bonds except Connery & Lazenby also attended Cubby Brocoli's memorial in 1996. I've not heard what Daniel Craig thinks of the other Bonds. However he told Jonathan Ross that he does a good Roger Moore impression. Lazenby when auditioning for Bond told Brocoli and Salzman he had a better body than Connery. He later said he resigned from Bond because he thought it was 'Connery's gig' and he would never be accepted. Generally all the Bonds seem to get on well and respect each other. Only they know drastically their lives changed after they got the part. Great research Adam which illustrates the professionalism of all the actors who've been lucky enough to play Bond.

Moonraker and Licence To Kill both in the top seven! That's a wide range of views. Sir Rog & Tim Dalton seem to be appreciated here more than some other places. Which is nice to see as they were both brilliant Bond’s.

So after almost 2 years of voting and analysis from our loyal members, we have concluded the Alternative007 James Bond movie poll. Each film has been assessed out of 10 with the average rating being the film’s final score. Top of the list is ‘The Spy who loved me’. I think it fair to say that this is Roger Moore’s best outing and a simply stunning film.
There are some very interesting trends in the final table. The top 3 films have a different lead actor play Bond, which indicates that our members are open to different actors playing the lead and are not closed off from different interpretations. It’s also interesting how the comedic/light-hearted Bond films such as ‘Goldfinger’ and ‘Moonraker’ are rated highly just as the darker and more serious in tone Bond films ‘On Her Majesty’s Secret Service’ and ‘From Russia With Love’.
Daniel Craig’s 2 outings as Bond are anchored at the bottom of our lists. Although the site and forum is not mainstream and has been critical of the selection of Daniel Craig as Bond, pro-Craig fans have been welcomed to the site and encouraged to voice their opinions. There is no discrimination of member’s opinions or selection and the poll has been conducted fairly with only 1 vote per member.
Thank you to everyone who has taken part and your time and efforts are greatly appreciated.
Best Regards
Skywalker.

Shocking story, eh. Now that is something BB can do. I'm still recovering from the shockingly dire QOS. Easily the worst Bond film ever made.

in THIS forum ONLY, The Spy Who Loved Me is the best bond movie to me Craig two movies far more superior than all Roger Moore's Bond (Clown Bond ;D) or Brosnan's outing (he was worst preety boy Bond or RAZZZIES BOND ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D) Have you actually watched TSWLM? How anyone can say QOS is better is beyond help.

I've ordered Skywalker's 2009 Christmas album. It has a mixture of Bing Crosby and ACDC to suit all tastes.
