Favourite James Bond Films: The Dark Knight Trilogy, Mission: Impossible and any upcoming action films starring Pierce Brosnan (no, it's not James Bond which is good because he'll need it to expand his reputation as an actor, especially in the action realm)
Favourite Films: Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Star Trek, The Dark Knight Trilogy, Harry Potter, Middle-Earth, The Matrix, Mission: Impossible

poirot....are you looking forward to the last Harry Potter installment? I've actually never seen any of the Harry Potter films. And unfortunately, I've become such a firm believer* in Emma Watson, I'm not sure I can go back and watch her as a little kid. Might be too weird. (*Roger Moore-esque pun fully intended.) But would you rather watch HP over DC Bonds?

Those actors hit the jackpot when they were cast a chidren in the first Harry Potter as they have earnt an absolute fortune!
I'm not a fan but perhaps I ought to give them another chance.

Go for it and make sure that HP will turn DC's Bonds look like a piece of garbage that like should be thrown in the Lake of Fire.

Hello, I've never read a Harry Potter book or seen one of the movies...so I cannot comment. I will say, however...that I can't wait for the upcoming film 'Inception' starring Leonardo Di Caprio. It's described as a contemporary sci-fi action thriller and is written and directed by Christopher Nolan. ('Memento', 'Insomnia', 'Batman Begins', 'The Dark Knight.') 'Inception' hits screens in North America July 20th. Not sure when the U.K. release is. Being that Nolan was born in London, the U.K. release might be sooner than July 20th! Take Care! (By the way....Warner Brothers have announced Nolan is officially signed to do the third 'Batman' movie and he is also in charge of resurrecting the 'Superman' franchise!!! How cool is that???

I'm not sure what to make of Nolan working on the next Superman film. The character doesn't exactly lend itself to psychological introspection, and Nolan is hardly the first director that springs to mind when you think "larger-than-life escapism".
It will also be interesting to see if his involvement will result in clashing artistic visions. After all, what's going to happen if Nolan doesn't like the director's ideas?

After all, what's going to happen if Nolan doesn't like the director's ideas? Hello, In my opinion...this won't be a problem. Christopher and his brother Jonathan have really impressed both DC Comics and Warner Brothers with their ideas on the 'Man Of Steel'. Christopher Nolan also says he's going to push Warner Bros. to let Jonathan Nolan direct. Warner Brothers' biggest problem with Superman right now is to keep and get back all the legality rights to the character which the estates of Jerry Seigel and Joel Shuster (co-creators of Superman) have taken them to court over. Take Care!

Christopher Nolan also says he's going to push Warner Bros. to let Jonathan Nolan direct. This move would solve any possible "clash" issues, while also raising some other ones. As QOS just proved, a huge action film isn't a good fit for someone that has never directed the genre- let alone someone that has never directed a film, period. Would Warner hand over such a huge project to a first-time director, in the hopes that they'll really be getting Christopher Nolan as a ghost-director? For that matter, would Christopher impose his will on his brother's vision, or prefer to let him stand on his own as much as possible? (I have a feeling it would be the latter, which should give Warner's pause.) Superman represents a lot of money and franchise potential for the studio, and could easily become their new cash-cow after Nolan leaves Batman. The franchise is ideally suited to all the current cinematic trends, such as 3D, over-the-top cgi, and spectacular stuntwork. It's not really a property that requires a serious tone firmly established in a realistic world- which has always been the Nolan brothers' preference. Superman Returns was a well-made film that had all the same qualities Bryan Singer had brought to the X-Men universe. Unfortunately, those same qualities just weren't much fun when applied to the world of Superman. A Superman movie in the 21st century should make popcorn entertainment like Transformers or Pirates of the Caribbean look like child's play. It should also easily dwarf the action in every other superhero film. Ideally, such a project needs a director willing to take the hero into space and around the world while battling giant aliens and a god from another universe. Based on everything he's done in the past, I'm just not sure Jonathan Nolan is that man.

Anyone here seen Toy Story 3 yet? I saw it last Friday, and it's the best of the 3 IMO.

Angelina Jolie's Salt is out today. This should be interesting since we're dealing with Russian spies just recently.

I was expecting Robert Rodriguez's Machete to dominate the US box office, but surprisingly, George Clooney's The American got the gold instead.

This wasn't the blockbuster year for films that previous summers have been. 2008 was bigger with Indiana Jones, Iron Man and Batman.
