1) On Her Majesty's Secret Service - Seems different from the other Bond films and better but still feels very much like a Bond film - a feeling I didn't experience with CR. I still get really into the film when I watch it.
2) Goldfinger - Need I add more?
3) The Spy Who Loved Me - Roger Moore saves the world in a pair of flares in the biggest Bond ever!

Hello, Some very solid choices, James. "Goldfinger" and "The Spy Who Loved Me" made my list also. I was unable to narrow it down to three...I also included "Licence To Kill" and "GoldenEye". I love the fact that you included "On Her Majesty's Secret Service"! For me...it's an entry in the Bond series that is extremely solid and true to Fleming, and still doesn't receive enough recognition. Considering it was his first real acting job and he had enormous pressure to replace Connery, I actually very much liked George Lazenby as 007. My only complaint is that when Bond impersonates Sir Hillary Bray...they dubbed all George's dialog with an actor named George Baker. I think it was a bad call and it undermined Lazenby's performance. Diana Rigg will always be the ultimate "Bond Girl". Take Care!

According to the DVD Lazenby only found out about the dubbing when he saw the film in the cinema!
I agree though, the fact that Lazenby was a blank made him more believable in a strange way. When I saw Casino Royale I didn't think 'That's James Bond!', I thought 'Oh look, it's weird looking British character actor Daniel Craig.' I suppose my point is I like the idea of a real unknown as 007.

It's interesting that Martin and Hamlisch had distictive scores which sounded unlike Barry.
