I'm hoping it will be another mess like Quantum of Solace and it is panned by the critics. Then Daniel Craig may leave the role of James Bond. I think the QOS mess is one of the reasons he was so determined to come back. Scary thing is the PR leading up to Skyfall reads exactly the same as the PR leading in to QOS. When you look at it its the same kind of statements from the director and star about what they think Bond is and how they want to change it. I'm not sure Q or MP are ingredients they can return to Daniel's 007, and if they do make them fit the dark face paralyzed in an eternal grimace in the soul reflecting world Daniel's Bond inhabits will they be any good, can we even call them Q and MP? If MP is indeed being returned we know Q or whatever they want to call him is.

I want him fired from the role but he has a 4 film contract. There is debate as to whether it is HIS option or Eon's to a 4th film. If he does Bond 24, FBF and I will start watching The Little Rascals shorts over and over with SAS because the Bond franchise will mean nothing to us any longer. Right SAS and FBF? SAS, you had better not take a mob to see Bond 23. That is an order!

Favourite James Bond Films: The Dark Knight Trilogy, Mission: Impossible and any upcoming action films starring Pierce Brosnan (no, it's not James Bond which is good because he'll need it to expand his reputation as an actor, especially in the action realm)
Favourite Films: Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Star Trek, The Dark Knight Trilogy, Harry Potter, Middle-Earth, The Matrix, Mission: Impossible

Everything is preferable over James Bond these days. If Bond 23 (even with higher ticket prices) surpasses either CR's worldwide $594 million and/or QOS' US $168 million, consider giving up bringing back the traditional Bond and instead go for weirdos for Bond.

I'd rather watch Formerbondfan play Macbeth than watch Skyfall.

The build up to Skyfall seems slightly low key. Perhaps publicity will increase with the Bond 50th Anniversary celebrations.

Was the build up for DAD that big 10 years ago? I remember Bonds films from DN to O were shown on ABC.

I think there were lots of special things as it was the 40th Anniversary of the Bond movie series. Brosnan was heralded as the best Bond ever and the series was very popular, so it was surprising when the Craig fans suggested Bond Craig saved the Bond series and that Brosnan was awful.

The reviews for Skylall are good. I don't think I'll go to and watch it as Daniel Craig is so boring as James Bond.

I am looking forward to a good Bond film. I remember the excitement as we waited for other Bonds in the past, especially the build up for Tomorrow Never Dies, after the buzz created by the explosive GoldenEye. I want that again and have decided not to let the producers miss guided attempt to devalue the canon of Bond to bolster their own interpretation. DC is not my favourite Bond, but I have decided to treat him as I did the last few Moore Bonds, when really most of us were waiting for a cast. I am also heartened by reading some of the comments of the regular filmgoers after the reviews of Skyfall. They don't see DC as the ultimate Bond but instead as another actor lucky enough to get to play him, preferred by some, but not by all. I hope we are getting back to the glory days of Bond fandom when we could civilly debate why a particular Bond was our favourite without having to denigrate his predecessors.
So yes, I am looking forward to Skyfall, because I refuse to let others dictate to me what and how I should enjoy one of my favourites.
Cheers

Cheers I wouldn't pay to see Bond 23 even if it is a good movie. ironyman...I don't want us to be enemies here, but you got realize that EON brainwashing you in helping DC's Bond 23 to become his TSWLM....which is something we Anti-Craig rebel dread to see. I'm sure our friend BJ will agree.
