I'm glad it's over now. The thrill of fireworks was gone for me by the age of about 12. Every sodding year on New Year's Eve my town sounds like it's being besieged and shelled by an Army until about 4 in the morning.

I would like to ask what everyones favourite Star Trek TV series is?
Firstly, I would like to say that I enjoy all the different series.
ST: TOS: This has to be the best, because it has some of the best stories.
ST:TNG: 2nd for me. It has wonderful cast, almost as iconic as the original.
DS9/Enterprise: 3rd equal. I love the darker tone of DS9. Enterprise was very fresh and had a great cast. Who knows how could it could have been if it had not have been cancelled?
Voyager: another fresh twist, but I did not enjoy the finale.

I actually prefer the original star trek films. That said the NG crew have picked up the mantle really well and continued to make great movies.
As for the series, I'd say I loved the NG series, Voyager was excellent and DS9 got better with age.
The original series is simply class and Enterprise was ok.

I love Star Trek, but only include the original series/crew in that statement. I think the Next Generation cast did a fine job, but they were just never my cup of tea.
It's actually not that different from how I currently feel about Bond. I'll always be a Bond fan, but to me it's not dependent on whatever's currently happening with the films or books.

Favourite James Bond Films: The Dark Knight Trilogy, Mission: Impossible and any upcoming action films starring Pierce Brosnan (no, it's not James Bond which is good because he'll need it to expand his reputation as an actor, especially in the action realm)
Favourite Films: Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Star Trek, The Dark Knight Trilogy, Harry Potter, Middle-Earth, The Matrix, Mission: Impossible

Like Brosnan, The Next Generation didn't have a perfect movie to end its era.

DS9 has the Bond episode!
I still can't believe that they made those marvellous series of films with the original cast.
Has anyone seen the remastered original series yet?

Has anyone seen the remastered original series yet? No, have you? I think the reason the Star Trek series has worked so well and lasted so long is that they haven't strayed too far for the original concept.

I've been watching DS9 on Virgin 1 over here. It's a shame they didn't make a DS9 film for the cinema. There was a big petition but it didn't come to anything.

Which season do you prefer? I'm bored with the cold weather I usually don't mind the winter but it has been a bit parky lately. I'm ready for the spring now I think. The winter is ok as long as you don't have to go outside too much!

Did anyone else in the UK notice the earthquake! The room I was in and myself shook. My girlfriend woke me up and I just caught the end of it. Bizarrely enough, I just turned to her, said it was ONLY an earthquake and went back to sleep.
