As other members may be aware, Charlie Higson has written a series of young Bond books. Are Eon planning to make any movies of these? Can anyone buy the rights to these novels, and perhaps even have a 20 year old James Bond in one of their movies? Also, now that Eon have stopped making traditional Bond movies with Miss Moneypenney, Q and soforth, would it be possible for someone to make a spy film as a tribute to the traditional Bond movie with British agent (for example) John Butler? As the Bond makers have copied Jason Bourne, another company could copy the old James Bond.

I have no idea what the situation will be regarding the film rights to Charlie Higson's books. It would be interesting to let someone other than Eon make a James Bond related film but they seem to have the whole thing locked down very tightly. Who knows, maybe they'll adapt the books themselves and have Daniel Craig as a schoolboy Bond.

The problem is, the more I read about the legal issues surrounding non-Eon Bonds, the less I understand.
