Dan the man Craig looks great in the first photo's I've seen.
Yeah, he completely conveys that matinee idol image of Vladimir Putin.
I see nothing different in the hairstyle. It's basically the same tousled bowl haircut he's been sporting in CR and even in The Golden Compass. As one of my colleagues (a makeup artist) mentioned, the tousled untidy style is an attempt to hide Craig's thinning hairline. Not that there is anything wrong with a receding hairline. But with a multi-million dollar budget, you'd think the producers could afford to get a better hairstylist for Craig to give him a more dignified look.
That's a nice compliment, except that it's not grounded in reality. Yeah, Craig is such a hit with the ladies that People magazine voted Patrick Dempsey the star of the year and crowned Matt Damon the sexist man alive. All the ladies also managed to miss Craig's two films of '07, "Invasion" and "The Golden Compass," which tanked spectacularly, despite Craig receiving top-billing with Nicole Kidman for those films. If he's such a hit with the ladies, then he should have a strong following. These two films should not have opened so
poorly--at the very least, the significant number of women who can't last a day without seeing him in a new movie should have made a difference. But maybe there's another logical reason why they didn't show up for these films: All these ladies were no doubt too busy to
go to the movies--too busy because they were at home watching "Grey's Anatomy" to catch a glimpse of the hunky Dempsey and co-star Eric Dane.
I photograph fashion models and they just find Craig completely unappealing. It's amazing to hear their comments about stars like Dempsey or a Gerard Butler and how they're simply captivated by these guys. I don't mean this as a mean-spirited attack on Craig (just being playful here), but the only women who could possible find Craig appealing are hags, angry feministas, and loonies who get a kick out of being different by opposing the image of a classically handsome guy.
Apart from me, I'm sure they're all terrific-looking guys. But one thing I do know is that the members of this forum are smart and can think critically and not join the herd mentality.
This whole Craggy Craig and the like is so old it's got one foot in the grave. Give it up already. Or at the very least find some new material.
Unfortunately for you, photographs show reality. And the members of this forum are simply discussing this first batch of photos, sharing their impressions. The hard truth (which you certainly have trouble accepting) is that Craig is craggy. This is one of the most
common observations about Craig that I hear from people at social gatherings when the discussion of movies, stars, etc., comes up. It's just like with Robert Redford...I always hear comments about him being craggy. Except that Redford is 70 and Craig is just about to
hit 40. So it's an uphill struggle for you. "Dan the man Craig," as you call him, provokes fans to comment on his cragginess, because his aging face completely contradicts the premise of this rebooted series featuring a supposedly young rookie Bond.
Wow.
You came up with all that on your own. Amazing.
Still you have your opinion and I have mine.
The truth is there are Bond fans that like Craig and those who don't. I don't hate fans for disliking him. But I will not be told that I can't, or that I'm not a real fan or don't know what I'm talking about if I do like Daniel Craig as James Bond.
Who the hell do some people think they are?
