I think it's more of a stepping stone to him than a passion.

I think he enjoys the fame he gets from James Bond. I still think he may have made an error because he may find it difficult to escape the Bond "typecast" in future and may have to take undemanding - but well paid as he is well known as Bond - roles in future rather than the wonderful "actor" type roles he was hoping for. I think he wants to be known for better reasons than simply being a muscleman in a pair of tight swimming trunks.

I think it's more of a stepping stone to him than a passion. He does not like who Bond is. Starting with Connery all of the actors liked Bond and loved being him. Except for maybe Lazenby. I don't think Craig will want to be associated with Bond for much longer.

I do feel that DC does not wish to be typecast, so I would not imagine him wanting to continue in the role after Bond 23.

Craig is a bit of a precious luvvie so I'm not sure he wants to make James Bond films for the next ten years. He probably has a few pet projects he wants to do. A kitchen sink black and white drama about rabies or something...probably.

Favourite James Bond Films: The Dark Knight Trilogy, Mission: Impossible and any upcoming action films starring Pierce Brosnan (no, it's not James Bond which is good because he'll need it to expand his reputation as an actor, especially in the action realm)
Favourite Films: Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Star Trek, The Dark Knight Trilogy, Harry Potter, Middle-Earth, The Matrix, Mission: Impossible

It would be ridiculously stupid if DC stays as Bond for another 10 years.

I don't think it was his dream job. He was a character actor who had been around a long time without becoming very famous. I'm sure he's very grateful for the money and career boost.

That's a good way of putting it. Craig doesn't strike me as the type of wants to be a superstar. He's certainly uncomfortable with the high profile nature of the Bond role. The fact that he's even bringing up the notion of leaving the role some day suggests that he has a kind of impatience. He strikes me as the type who could suddenly walk away from it all. I've been a photographer for the entertainment industry, even photographed celebrities, and know some lawyers in the industry. Although Craig has a 3 picture deal, you can be sure there are clauses in that contract, and it's probably stacked in Sony's favor. In other words, it wouldn't surprise me if Craig only ends up doing two films. I think he took the part for two reasons: (1) as an actor, there's a small part of him that wondered what he could do with the role; (2) the main reason: he did it for the great pay day.

I think with actors like Moore and Brosnan, James Bond was the apex of their career and they loved it and the security it brought. I think Craig is different. He wants a career after Bond and while he is still relatively young.

I've seen Craig on a few chat shows and he's like Dalton. A very private, shy chap who prefers acting to being famous or photographed.
