Give him a whole decade before putting him under consideration. If he doesn't lose that baby face he'll never be Bond material.

Bryan Singer nearly cast Cavill as Superman apparently.

According to the Fleming novels, James Bond started his 00 career when he was in his twenties.

In Moonraker it's revealed that he is 37, and the events take place during the release of the novel, 1955. In Goldfinger it's referenced that he had been a 00 for seven years, since that was released in 1959 you can conclude that he started his 00 career in 1952, making him 34 years old.

In Casino Royale, set in 1952 it is stated that he got his 00 licence for a couple of kills in WWII, so he would be around 27, if we go by his age in Moonraker set in'55/'56 which was 37. I'm not sure continuity was Fleming's strong point though!!!!

I'm not sure continuity was Fleming's strong point though!!!! It wasn't, Bond's birth date kept changing but the first instance was the statement of his age in MR so I say he's born in 1918 and the rest are errors in continuity. I haven't read CR in awhile but I'm finishing TMWTGG so I'll go right back onto it soon. I have no intention to read anything post-Fleming, I can't imagine anyone capturing that kind of spirit, he was really one of a kind.

How about Sam Worthington as a younger Bond?

He's too old for young Bond, given that he's now Connery's age in Dr. No. But so far he looks more masculine than Cavill and he'll be at the right age once Craig finishes off his tenure in the next decade.
