I think Henry Cavill would make a splendid Bond, but many people seem to feel he is too young looking to be Bond.
I think if he played a young Bond early in his 00 career, then he would look ok for Bond now, and would have been fine in 2006.
He is now 25, and could play the usual grown up Bond we used to have before Barbara went mad.

He has plenty of time on his side whatever happens.

You can see a lot of Henry Cavill on Youtube. He has the height but his face is a bit of a male model face. You can probably find a lot of these faces at the nearest catwalk. There are no disguishing or interesting features and it's too much of a baby face. He is handsome but if he became Bond in 2005 half the countrys boyband singers would think they could become Bond. Bond has to look like a handsome man in his 30's and 40's. How is a 25 year old like Cavill supposed to handle confident women like Honour Blackman, Franke Janssen and Maud Adams. Or have the skills and experience Bond has ?

Or have the skills and experience Bond has ? I also felt he was too young in 2005, but then...that was the direction both Campbell and Wilson said they were going in. CR was supposed to feature a twenty-something Bond who would have slowly evolved into the Bond we know and love. So while he was too young to be a traditional (or rather, seasoned) Bond, he would have been close to the whole "rookie Bond" concept.

They may go unconventional again when (and if) they recast the role. Depends on QOS and the performance of future Craig entries really.

It is possible that Craig might make it easier for them to cast a more conventional Bond type next time. I'm sure part of the reason they cast Craig was to try something new and not have a Brosnan clone. I mean , I don't really agree with what they did - I like the films to change but Bond to be Bond or a reasonable constant - but I think that was the sort of logic at work...probably...

I think Sam Worthington might be a better choice next time. He is a very good actor from what I've seen and only just lost out on doing Casino Royale.

I think he was but is not now. Sean Connery looked quite young in Dr No, IMO.

Sam Worthington is 32, so has a few more years left. He is handsome, his body looks a bit too beefy but I he can tone up. His hair is brown, rather than the distinctive black hair of Connery, Brosnan, Dalton & Lazenby. However hair dye can change that. Not sure how tall he is. He's currently making Terminator 4 alongside Cristian Bale. That could be a breakthrough film for him and he may become too big a star for Bond.

Cavill would have suited the final CR script better than Daniel Craig but they could have done Casino Royale without a reboot. The novel wasn't an origin story. Bond was established already.

Favourite James Bond Films: The Dark Knight Trilogy, Mission: Impossible and any upcoming action films starring Pierce Brosnan (no, it's not James Bond which is good because he'll need it to expand his reputation as an actor, especially in the action realm)
Favourite Films: Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Star Trek, The Dark Knight Trilogy, Harry Potter, Middle-Earth, The Matrix, Mission: Impossible

It feels rather weird.

I don't mind the idea of Cavill as the next James Bond after watching The Tudors. He would mark a return to some old fashioned style and panache and no one would be able to complain that he was too short at 6'1.
