I mean, it's 2007 now - 45 years since Dr. No was released! Without some sort of timeline reset, Bond would be in his eighties. This would've been necessary if Connery had been the only previous Bond, or if the series had been dormant for 10 or 20 years. But audiences accepted Bond's fuzzy continuity long ago and have since just gone along with his longevity.

The young Bond idea was an interesting one. It's just a shame they didn't have the courage to do it in the end.

Is Bond 22 a continuation film from Casino Royale which will mean that Craig's Bond is the same character. Will it follow on Rocky style - i.e. they will show that daft bit at the end where he shoots that man whilst wearing a trenchcoat? I am afraid Harry Palmer that Bond will be even far removed than ever in the new film, they are as reports suggest going to dress him in scruffy attire!

Daniel Craig's James Bond - a rookie at 38 and with a completely new personailty - is a not really the Bond I know from the novels or films.
