As the QOS game recently demonstrated, gameplay that worked 10 years ago isn't as successful on a modern system. If this rumor ends up being true, it will mean Bond videogames have become creatively bankrupt.
It's too bad EA ditched the rights several years ago, since they were beginning to find a nice groove with titles like Everything or Nothing and From Russia With Love.

I will destroy this game if DC's mug is placed in it instead of Pierce.

Those responsible for new Bond things certainly know how to annoy Brosnan fans.
If a Brosnan character cannot be in it then they should choose a generic Bond type.

Those responsible for new Bond things certainly know how to annoy Brosnan fans. Worse, they're trying to make us forget Pierce as Bond. How about not make it?

I can't believe they're going to ruin one of my favourite childhood games. Erasing Brosnan from Goldeneye is just blasphemy!!

e3.gamespot.com/story/6265641/goldeneye-007-staring-down-wii-in-novemberGoldenEye 007 staring down Wii in November By Eddie Makuch, GameSpot Jun 15, 2010 10:14 am PT
E3 2010: Nintendo 64 classic reimagined for Nintendo's console this winter with four-player split-screen local multiplayer, online multiplayer, updated visuals, Daniel Craig as Bond.
LOS ANGELES--At Nintendo's 2010 Electronic Entertainment Expo media briefing this morning, Reggie Fils-Aime announced that Goldeneye 007 will arrive exclusively for the Wii this November.
A two-minute trailer for the game was shown, revealing that the remake will include updated visuals, four-player split-screen multiplayer, and new game modes. Although the original GoldenEye 007 featured Pierce Brosnan in the leading role, today's trailer revealed current Quantum of Solace actor Daniel Craig as the leading man.
GoldenEye 007 is hitting the Wii this November.
Goldeneye 007 for the Wii will also include online multiplayer, a functionality its N64 cousin could not offer. In addition, players will be able to take part in 16 game modes, including GoldenEye 007 N64 favorites Paintball, Melee Only, and You Only Live Twice. On top of that, players can square off against each other in the game's adversarial modes, with the roster including eight characters from the revered Bond classic, as well as 40 other unnamed virtual soldiers.
The game is currently in development at Eurocom under the banner of Activision, the publisher that currently holds the license to create James Bond titles.
THIS IS BAD.........VERY BAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Daniel Craig Replaces Pierce Brosnan as James Bond ... Again
by Peter Hall Jun 15th 2010 // 9:45AMWhen Daniel Craig replaced Pierce Brosnan as James Bond, there wasn't a huge outcry of fan opposition. Brosnan wasn't necessarily a bad MI6 agent, but the pun-heavy, silly direction the character had been driven to eventually soured with fans, leaving them in want of change in the process. And so Craig's arrival was met with equal measures of curiosity, doubt, and a "something's got to change" attitude. But the great thing about the Bond franchise is that whether or not you like the new Bond, a fresh start means they're not retroactively replacing the previous actors.
Until now, that is: Daniel Craig will once again be replacing Pierce Brosnan as Bond. And though I'm betting Brosnan is a little pissed about being recast twice, I'm also betting more fans will actually be opposed to it this time: Daniel Craig will be the face of Bond in the official remake of the classic Nintendo 64 game, GoldenEye 007.
Yep, let that bittersweet news sink in. GoldenEye was a seminal first person shooter that multiple generations of gamers are bound to have incredibly fond memories of. It's one of those few video games that people who normally don't even play video games have sunk hours into. Hell, some of those level designs are branded into the muscle memory of joystick thumbs the world over. So while I think a lot of gamers will get a kick out of the news that Activision have given the classic a remarkably faithful updating for the Nintendo Wii, they'll be less enthused to see that the only part they haven't been faithful to is the face and voice of Bond himself. Check out the trailer below and you'll see exactly what I'm talking about.
I know it's a small complaint. The skinning of Bond's face won't make a difference to the game play, but if the whole point of remaking the best movie-based video game of all time is to bank entirely on nostalgia, why would you even bother to change the face? Are they legally obligated to? Or are they worried that new players to the series will be confused by anyone other than Daniel Craig as Bond? Whatever the reason, I'm sure I'm not the only one who is hoping someone quickly unlocks/mods Brosnan back into GoldenEye. Running around The Stacks just won't be the same without him.THIS IS A TRAVESTY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Daniel Craig Replaces Pierce Brosnan as James Bond AgainSubmit Comment Nintendo has unveiled the trailer for the remake of the classic Nintendo 64 shooter, "GoldenEye," which will be released for Nintendo DS and Wii later this holiday season.
Both the movie and the original game starred Pierce Brosnan, but now that Daniel Craig is the new James Bond, the company has decided to remake the "GoldenEye" game with Craig as the lead. Check out the trailer below to see for yourself.
Regarding the game, Activision's David Pokress said: "The game delivers an all-new adventure that seamlessly integrates nostalgic GoldenEye moments with innovative FPS gameplay and unique multiplayer action that is unrivaled on the platform."That EON never gives up making Pierce looking like a wimp, do they? They're the ones who throw in the silliness in the first place....not Pierce. I'M NOT GOING TO BUY THIS GAME!!!!!!!! BUT IF I DID, I'LL F*CKING DESTROY IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Could a Goldfinger or You Only Live Twice game be made with Craig instead of Connery?
