Would would Cubby had done with Bond 22 if he was still around?
I'm 99% sure it would have included Brosnan. The last three Brosnan films may hve been different too.

Question is: Would he have gone for a blonde Bond? I know Moore's locks where a little too light for my liking in AVTAK, but I'm not sure Cubby would have strayed into blonde territory.

Moore's locks where a little too light for my liking in AVTAK I think by that point, Cubby wasn't too worried about Moore not looking the part. After all, Moore essentially WAS the image most people associated with James Bond at the time. Of course when it came time to replace him, we see the kind of look Cubby was interested in: Brosnan and Dalton.

Dalton and Brosnan were two actors that Cubby had earmarked earlier for the role so your spot on with your assumption that Cubby would have chosen either a similar looking actor or would have continued with Brosnan.

Cubby rejected Sam Neil too so I'm not sure he would have approved Daniel Craig.

He would have been ok but I'm glad they held out for Dalton.

Cubby was obsessed with dark handsome types such as Billington and Dalton (was he the drivinfg force behind the casting of Lazenby - I can't remember). Barbara on the other hand........

I think Cubby would have made five or six Brosnan films and then hired a Gerard Butler or someone like that. He might have liked Jackman too. He gave the rookie Bond thing short shrift in the eighties and cast Timothy Dalton (after losing Brosnan) so we know what his general rules were when it came to casting a new Bond. In the Cubby era I think Daniel Craig would have been either mistaken for a window-cleaner or removed from Eon's offices by security. I do think though that the Brosnan films would have been bigger with Cubby. I think he would have given Brosnan a modern version of The Spy Who Loved Me or something a bit like Octopussy even. Big lavish adventures that played to Brosnan's strengths.

Eon:The Next Generation signed Brosnan as Bond in 1994 and just made four (average) films with him.

As you said, he was fine but I can see why Cubby thought he might be able to do a bit better.

I've read several times that Babs wanted Sean Bean in 1994 but didn't get her way. But you are right to say they could have made more films with Brosnan of a higher quality. Welcome to the forum.

Cubby was interested in Dalton in the 70's. Moore did a find job in FYEO & O but Dalton would have also suited these films. He would definatly have improved AVTAK as Moore looked way too old and disinterested.

For Your Eyes Only would have been great with Dalton.
