Favourite James Bond Films: The Dark Knight Trilogy, Mission: Impossible and any upcoming action films starring Pierce Brosnan (no, it's not James Bond which is good because he'll need it to expand his reputation as an actor, especially in the action realm)
Favourite Films: Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Star Trek, The Dark Knight Trilogy, Harry Potter, Middle-Earth, The Matrix, Mission: Impossible

That's exactly what Pierce Brosnan says in private I'd imagine.

That's exactly what Pierce Brosnan says in private I'd imagine. [/quote Pierce said he tried to watch one of DC's Bonds on the plane up in the sky, but the movie was broken down twice.

CR a classic my @$$!!!!!! Is Casino Royale still held in great esteem now? It's not so mad as it was a few years ago. That film is starting to look dated already if you catch some of it on television.

GoldenEye was pretty good. It's a little dated too now but it is over 15 years old.

GoldenEye was pretty good. It's a little dated too now but it is over 15 years old. Even Sean's and Rog's Bonds are dated as well. GoldenEye pretty good? What are you talking about? That movie defines the modern times and is considered to be one of the best action movies to date.

I like GoldenEye. Haven't seen it for a while though. The music could have been better.

Though I would prefer Arnold to score GE, I thought Eric Serra's score has very Cold War feel to it.

Serra didn't use the Bond theme enough in GoldenEye.

I've been listening to all the Bond Scores on my Ipod and while I was originally dismissive of Serra's score when GE first came out, I have developed an appreciation for it over the years. I think that it captured the melancholy mood of GE very well as Bond, and the movie's producers themselves I think, tried to determine whether there was a place for Bond in the new world. Arnold's scores (although TND is one of the best Bond scores) have become somewhat repetitive in a way that John Barry's scores never were and I think that's why I appreciate GE's music more now.
In my opinion, the producers should alternate scores between Arnold and another composer (my choice would be Michael Giachinno - his "Incredible" score was the most Bond like score of the past 20 years) because sometimes friendly rivalry can spur people on to consistent greatness. That however, would imply that the producers have a plan, which I don't think can be supported by their other actions.
Also, they must find it easy to simply rely on Arnold, whose scores, despite my mild criticisms, are consistently high quality.

Serra didn't use the Bond theme enough in GoldenEye. But Michael Kamen use it more than Serra did.

Eon sacked Pierce Brosnan with the reboot but seemed to keep everyone else involved in the production.
