Hello, I've discovered a very interesting article on the MI6 website which details the third James Bond film that would've featured Timothy Dalton. www.mi6.co.uk/sections/movies/bond17.php3?t=&s=&id=01930As you may know, I'm a big fan of Dalton's interpretaion of 007. It's truly a shame this film never got made...I think it would've been great! Oh, well. I guess we'll never know. Take Care!

Favourite James Bond Films: The Dark Knight Trilogy, Mission: Impossible and any upcoming action films starring Pierce Brosnan (no, it's not James Bond which is good because he'll need it to expand his reputation as an actor, especially in the action realm)
Favourite Films: Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Star Trek, The Dark Knight Trilogy, Harry Potter, Middle-Earth, The Matrix, Mission: Impossible

That sounds like Tomorrow Never Dies.

I've read bits and pieces on this. It's a shame he never got to do just one more. I remember being intrigued by the suggestion that John Landis was being courted. Landis is a bit shot now but he was a very inventive director in his day and, obviously, had a great sense of humour.

Is this the one with the mini robots? Hello, I think you're thinking of the McClory / Connery movie "Warhead", Harry. The script called for 007 to evade mechanical sharks in the sewers while trying to make his way to the Statue Of Liberty where a big showdown would've taken place. Take Care!

I think there were some nanobots in Tim's third outing too! Hello, Thanks for the heads up, Harry! Dalton and deadly robots...cool!!! Damn! I so wanted another Dalton film, being one of the few who really loved "Licence To Kill". Timothy really stuck to his guns and refused to "dumb-down" James Bond to please the multiplex hordes. Could that be partially why anytime I mention his name to casual Bond fans they say they didn't particularly care for him? After seeing him as 007, I got into his other films and projects and I think he's absolutely fantastic. I believe Timothy was the right Bond at maybe the wrong time. Take Care!

Nanobots? I don't even know what nanobots are but I'd have paid money to see TD in a slightly more escapist Bond film.

I'd've loved another TD film, his firsrt 2 were equally good and I'd expect the third one to be too. He originally signed for 3 anyway but by 1994 (My birth year!) it seemed pointless. Sonds like early PB which I love (GE/TND)

Here's the first draft by Michael France, written when Dalton was still in the role. John Rhys-Davies reprising Pushkin from THE LIVING DAYLIGHTS, before the character was rewritten as Dmitri Mishkin and Loelia Ponsonby making her debut. Very interesting, I think some ideas should have been kept such as Bond having a former M that defected (pre-Miles Messervy I should note) as opposed to 006. I like having a flashback sequence in the middle of the film instead, giving us first a sense of mystery on why Bond is so bothered. rapidshare.com/files/145885602/Goldeneye__France_.pdf.html

Perhaps the unproduced Dalton's third film should be novelized.

I've read the first 34 pages, so far so good. Most actually work better, although there's a blatant rip-off of the SPECTRE meeting in Thunderball where you wonder whether Blofeld will kill one guy or the other. Still, very good so far. I look forward to reading the rest.
