Favourite James Bond Films: The Dark Knight Trilogy, Mission: Impossible and any upcoming action films starring Pierce Brosnan (no, it's not James Bond which is good because he'll need it to expand his reputation as an actor, especially in the action realm)
Favourite Films: Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Star Trek, The Dark Knight Trilogy, Harry Potter, Middle-Earth, The Matrix, Mission: Impossible

I guess we can assume Ledger won't be taking home an Oscar- not that the Academy likes to give them out posthumously anyway. But his inclusion here feels like nothing more than lip service.
Industry insiders said all along that The Dark Knight wasn't being seriously considered by the people that mattered. And that all the "Oscar buzz" was largely generated online by comicbook fans.
I thought its huge domestic gross would be more of a factor. Then again, its worldwide gross really wasn't much different than the average Spiderman, Harry Potter, or Pirates of the Caribbean sequel.
The fact that it was a comicbook film and a sequel was probably always too much for it to overcome. After all, there are many in Hollywood that just viewed it as Batman 6, rather than Batman 2.

QoS got a couple of awards from some organisation I'd never heard of. The funniest thing was, if I remember correctly, it was for the song and editing!

TDK deserves a lot more than just Best Supporting Actor nomination.
