Hi, In May 2008 if you didn't catch the radio adaptation of Ian Fleming's 'Dr. No' on the BBC...you missed an outstanding production! Don't worry...'drfanshawe' knows where you can still download it! Originally expected to be a 'one off' to celebrate what would've been Ian Fleming's 100th birthday...the project was green-lit by EON, and produced by Jarvis and Ayres Productions (actors Martin Jarvis and Rosalind Ayres). Splendid performances featured Martin Jarvis as Ian Fleming's narration, 'Die Another Day's' Toby Stephens...perfectly cast as James Bond, and a blood-chilling performance by David Suchet as the crazed half Chinese, half German Doctor No. The good news is EON was so impressed with this hour and a half of pure radio Gold, they have asked for another! Appropriately enough...Jarvis and Ayres next will be bringing us Ian Fleming's 'Goldfinger'. Production is slated to begin soon...with Martin Jarvis returning to perform Fleming's narration. The producers have also said they are 'very keen' on securing the services of Toby Stephens to reprise his role of everyone's favorite British Secret Agent! Stay Tuned!!!!!

It seems strange that Eon hold the radio rights. Then again, they hold the TV rights too.

Favourite James Bond Films: The Dark Knight Trilogy, Mission: Impossible and any upcoming action films starring Pierce Brosnan (no, it's not James Bond which is good because he'll need it to expand his reputation as an actor, especially in the action realm)
Favourite Films: Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Star Trek, The Dark Knight Trilogy, Harry Potter, Middle-Earth, The Matrix, Mission: Impossible

Hi, Just a little update on the Martin and Jarvis radio adaptation of "Goldfinger". I am so excited! Toby Stephens, who was a brilliant 007 in the 2008 radio drama of "Dr. No" will once again portray everyone's favorite British Secret Agent! Also, how's this for casting? A baddie Bond girl is about to go good, as producers have signed Rosamund Pike (Miranda Frost in 'Die Another Day') - as the one and only Pu$$y Galore! To top it all off, I'm very pleased to tell you that the role of the cunning, precious metal loving Goldfinger will be played by none other than the esteemed Sir Ian McKellan!!!! No news on when the play will be broadcast yet...but I feel confident in saying it will be sometime late spring / early summer on the BBC. Just my opinion...but don't Toby Stephens and Rosamund Pike also look right for the parts? Interesting, considering it's radio! Stay tuned!!!!

'Goldfinger' will be broadcast on BBC Radio-4 over the 2010 Easter Weekend...still not sure of the exact date and time! Take Care

Not a bad Easter with this and a brand new Dr Who making his debut.

I didn't like Toby Stephens in this. His voice was too modern and transatlantic and lacked authority.

Sir Ian was good but Toby Stephens was questionable.
