Which of the 6 Bond actors do you think had the best voice?
1.Sean Connery:
The distintive Connery Scotch voice is now am iconic part of Bond.
2.Roger Moore:
Sir Roger has a great suave accent.
3.Tim Dalton:
Wonderful north of England voice, especially apparent when he says the word nasty.
4.Pierce Brosnan:
The Piercester has every distinctive voice too. His American-Irish voice sounds rather like Angus Macfadyen.
5.George Lazenby:
Has an Aussie flavour (naturally). Sounds a bit like George Baker sometimes too.
6.Daniel Craig:
A mumbling Martin Shaw like voice with some cockney tossed in during the comical scenes. Not to my taste.

Connery's was a very strong, broad Scottish accent.
George had his voice dubbed for some of OHMSS. His voice was quite weak, perhaps because he was'nt an experienced actor at the time and did'nt know how to make the best use of his voice.
Moore had a posh English voice which I liked.
Dalton had a dash of Welsh in his accent. But not too much. His voice seemed quieter than the the other Bonds. But no less effective.
Brosnan also had a strong voice. Coming from Ireland but spending many years in the US his accent was a mixture of Irish and American. The voice would sometimes be quiet but he had no problem raising it or shouting should the need arise.
Sorry to kick a man when he's down but Craig has weak monotone voice, 100% English but not posh like Moore's or strong like Connery's.

Connery had a good voice although he was posher in the earlier films and a bit of Scottish came out later on. In NSNA he didn't hide his accent (or tatoo) much.

Connery is the obvious choice, but I always thought Moore had a great speaking voice for the character as well. There's just something distinct and classy about it. He also had a great way with delivering quips and very proper sounding lines. (I can't see just any actor delivering a line like, "...as M's away.")
In some ways, Moore's Bond voice reminds me of Basil Rathbone as Sherlock Holmes. For example, here's a random scene from Sherlock Holmes and the Secret Weapon. Skip ahead to the 1:20 mark and check out (a disguised) Holmes' little speech at the bookshelf.

Favourite James Bond Films: The Dark Knight Trilogy, Mission: Impossible and any upcoming action films starring Pierce Brosnan (no, it's not James Bond which is good because he'll need it to expand his reputation as an actor, especially in the action realm)
Favourite Films: Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Star Trek, The Dark Knight Trilogy, Harry Potter, Middle-Earth, The Matrix, Mission: Impossible

Here is an interesting snippet on Roger's voice: www.roger-moore.com/roger-roger.htmHe was sort of the Hugh Grant of his day, a light comedian and pretty-boy with a posh accent. The son of a bobby, a British policeman, Moore grew up "with the same accent as Michael Caine," Moore tells an audience of amusement park managers. "But I went to RADA [the Royal Academy of Dramatic and they trained (the Cockney) out of me.
Moore changed voices. Caine changed names, something Moore delights in bringing up. He and Caine whose real name is Maurice Micklewhite - are pals.
Caine didn't attend RADA. The former Maurice Micklewhite kept the Cockney accent and has a knighthood and a couple of Oscars to show for it. And if Moore had kept his original accent?
"I'd be still out there, getting the great parts," Moore tells the managers, with a chuckle. "And he'd be up here talking to you."

I though Connery and Moore were the most polished and relaxed. Dalton was a little theatrical but enjoyable. Daniel Craig mumbles a bit too much for my liking.

Connery's and especially Pierce's are the best. If I have to choose, I pick Pierce since I grew up watching his Bond.
