Favourite James Bond Films: The Dark Knight Trilogy, Mission: Impossible and any upcoming action films starring Pierce Brosnan (no, it's not James Bond which is good because he'll need it to expand his reputation as an actor, especially in the action realm)
Favourite Films: Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Star Trek, The Dark Knight Trilogy, Harry Potter, Middle-Earth, The Matrix, Mission: Impossible

A long time ago in a world of pop culture far, far away... It was the period where Americans suffered through unfortunate events. The United States had lost a war for the first time in history as it tries to curb the spread of communism in Southeast Asia. Its then president (Richard Nixon) was believed to have connections with the Watergate scandal. It was these incidents that made Americans to have the need of escaping from the real world. Meanwhile, the creator of American Graffiti, George Lucas, always wanted to adapt Flash Gordon on the big screen himself but couldn't secure the rights. Lucas then decided that it's best he invent his own sci-fi project. This project came to be known as Star Wars. The script was rejected by every studio he submitted to. The reason: no one would want see it for the idea is rather silly. Fortunately, 20th Century Fox decided to take on Star Wars even though it would flop. After many doubts people had on Lucas, Star Wars became a surprise hit and a pop culture phenomenon as well as the highest grossing movie at that time. Also, it was nominated by 10 Academy Awards, including Best Picture. It has since went through many changes after the first release; the notable versions were the 1997 special edition and the 2004 DVD. Along with the rest of the saga, the 1977 top grosser will be convert to 3-D for rerelease. "The Force will be with you. Always."Be sure to check out Raiders of the Lost Ark once you're finished rating this pop culture classic.
