A long time ago in a world of pop culture far, far away...
In 1977, Star Wars was brought into the history of mankind; 28 years later, the saga came to the final curtain call.
3 years after the start of the Clone Wars (as first depicted in Episode II - Attack of the Clones), Anakin Skywalker is now a Jedi Knight and a great hero to many people. Often, he was known as the most powerful Jedi ever lived, but that wasn't enough for him as he continued struggling with his thirst for power to save the people he cared about including his wife Senator Padme Amidala.
Meanwhile, the war against the Separatists and Chancellor Palpatine's rule over the Republic have been escalated, raising suspicions from the Jedi and many others. The Jedi, however, sensed a much greater threat.....one that will destroy them. But they were too late to prevent it as Palpatine (revealed as Darth Sidious, Dark Lord of the Sith) was behind the war from the start as to plot his every move to destroy the Jedi. Unbeknownst to the Jedi, Anakin Skywalker fell to the Dark Side as he was manipulated by the Sith Lord himself through Anakin's desire for his thirst for power. Darth Vader was born.
With a new apprentice on his side, Darth Sidious wiped out most of the Jedi and transformed the Galactic Republic into the Galactic Empire. With most Jedi ambushed and killed in a trap set by Sidious, Obi-Wan and Yoda managed to survive. Afterwards, they discovered the disturbing truth of Anakin's betrayal. Obi-Wan went on to face his former apprentice, leading to the final lightsaber duel of the saga.....where Anakin ended up in the situation that permanently places him in the infamous black suit we all know today.
At release, Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith redeemed the Star Wars saga with a very high note. A lot of critics and fans said it was the best of the prequels. Richard Roeper considers it as the best since The Empire Strikes Back. Some said it's even better than the Original Trilogy. However, there were few criticisms pointing towards weak dialogue, but other than that, it's a great end to the saga. Like its predecessors, Episode III got nominated by the Oscars, and it was for Best Makeup.
The last Star Wars episode is out on Blu-Ray along with the rest of the saga and will rerelease on 3-D in 2014.
Well, there you have it. This concludes the poll of both Star Wars and Lucas' blockbuster franchises.
"Commander Cody, the time has come. Execute Order 66."
