Hello, I'm just wondering...did anybody out there pick up the latest release of the 007 movies on DVD ("The James Bond Ultimate Editions?) What's your opinion on them? I am really impressed with the makeover the films got. The new picture quality and sound are superb...next best thing to seeing them in the theatre IMO. There are also some cool bonus materials we've never seen before on the second disc for each film. I must admit...I feel a bit guilty because I bought the original releases years back. I'm maybe too much of a Bond fanatic? P.S. The DVD's came in a cool 007 briefcase in the U.K. You can now purchase the films individually, as well. Take Care!

The older films seem to have the better extras. My copy of Die Another Day did not seem to have any extras at all just a strange interview with Babs Broccoli.
Some people said the Special Edition DVD's had better quality prints and osund than the Ultimate Editions, but I could not comment!
If you feel guilty about owning both the Special Editions and the Ultimate Editions then you cold sell some of your SE on Ebay.

I've got the new DVDs. They are impressive. DAD I think actually had less special features than before. I'll have to check some time. I don't think they did much to improve the quality of DAD, it was pretty much there already. DTS sound, crisp picture. I though TND might have looked better. But it is really the older films including TLD that benefited the most.

Older movies always benefit from a DVD makeover.

Better sound/picture quality and a few more extra's, as well as the UNCUT versions of some of TD's and PB's films are good but the cover art IMO is awful.
