I wonder what would BJ think of a ponytail Bond. He is running a muti-million dollar campaign to try and get one for Bond 23. He wants Bond to have a mustache too.

Favourite James Bond Films: The Dark Knight Trilogy, Mission: Impossible and any upcoming action films starring Pierce Brosnan (no, it's not James Bond which is good because he'll need it to expand his reputation as an actor, especially in the action realm)
Favourite Films: Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Star Trek, The Dark Knight Trilogy, Harry Potter, Middle-Earth, The Matrix, Mission: Impossible

Would you mind if we have a ponytail Bond....Cpt? Or that would be just as bad as having Bond as a blond.

Perhaps the pony tail for men will become really fashionable and Bond might have one in a film. He could have one for a short time in a Bond film if he has to go undercover.

I miss the days when Bond was always tall, dark and handsome. Craig looks more like a Bond villain who needs a persian cat on his lap. Someone on MI6 even suggested a redhead guy as the next Bond. It's just getting absurd.

It's just getting absurd. It's weird how Craig's fans have to pretend that Bond is not the tall handsome person invented by Fleming in order to support Craig.. I feel like Winston Smith sometimes reading the Daniel Craig fans' propaganda.

It's important for Barbara Broccoli to keep moving away from that Ian Fleming author. That's so old, it's stuff from old colonialism that is out-dated, including that kind of Bond in the books. If Daniel won't be back for the next film, then they should continue casting his type. I don't even mind seeing a red-haired actor. that tall, dark, matinee actor style for Bond is cliche now and marginalizes other types of men. Let's have diversity and not exclude others. I hope Barbara Broccoli keeps things politically correct and just levels the playing field for all.

I'll admit that it will be a little weird to see a James Bond with a pony-tail but I'm open to it, so long as they don't go back to that old-fashion style of a tall, dark, hero. I mean, that kind of look for a hero is soooo old, like when I see a picture of Cary Grant, it reminds me of my grandparents' time. The Bond of today should look like the way people look today. I have male classmates with pony-tails. Then I have other classmates, including me, that sort of has spiked hair like the way Daniel Craig looks as Bond. I guess what's really important is that the Bond of today doesn't marginalize any group. I mean, why does he always have to be that tall, dark hero? Daniel Craig broke that barrier, he has brought people together. When you look at it that way, it's a deeply moving experience.

Cary Grant does look old fashioned. Then again he was around in the 50's.
I don't think any of the Bond actors look old fashioned. Even today. All the Bonds have always worn tux's and expensive suits. These have never gone out of fashion. All the Bonds have had short hair. Short hair is currently in fashion, however the 60's & 70's was the period of longer hair. But I can't imagine a Bond with Beatle cut.
Well Brosnan had a beard and long hair in DAD. Not sure about a ponytail. That was sooo 1980's.

Most Bond fans feel Bond needs to be tall for several reasons.
Men want to be like Bond but realise they can't. Being taller than the average man is one of these reasons.
Women want to be with Bond. Women won't want to tower over Bond once they put their heels on.
Bond uses his size to win fights. To realistically win fights Bond has to at least be a similar size to his opponents.

To be honest I thought Brosnan very fashionable as Bond. His haircut during his tenure was more up to date & better than all the other Bonds. Dalton's jet black hair was the most distinctive & I liked it in LTK when it was slicked back.
I won't mention Seans post 1965 syrup or George's and Daniel's flat haircuts. Opps, I just have.

It's funny but my wife has almost zero awareness of Bond, and in fact has only seen Goldeneye - which she went to with me because we were dating as the time.
Anyways the other night I turned on the tv and we caught the end of Tomorrow Nvver Dies - which I will defend as a great Bond in action mode film - and on the last scene as Bond floats in the wreckage with Wai Lin, my wife says - apropos of nothing - "Now there is a good looking James Bond".
Now she knows nothing about the whole reboot and the casting of Craig controversy but she did, I think, show that to the ordinary movie going audience, Bond is supposed to be tall dark and handsome.

Men want to be like Bond but realise they can't. Being taller than the average man is one of these reasons. Women want to be with Bond. Women won't want to tower over Bond once they put their heels on. With DC as Bond, these sayings are no longer legitimate.
