Hello, I remember liking 'Battlestar Galactica' waaay back in the late '70s. I must say though, the Ronald D. Moore 'Battlestar Galactica' reboot on Sci Fy was absolutely fantastic!!! I haven't enjoyed a television series that much since the original 'Star Trek' and also 'The Next Generation. I also enjoy 'Smallville' and 'Boston Legal'. Out of all these shows...the only one still running is the story of young Clark Kent in 'Smallville'. I own many of these series on DVD...here in Canada I would like to find out if we get 'Sherlock Holmes' and also 'Doctor Who' - I always enjoyed that show!! Take Care!

Boston Legal was a fun show. I never thought Shatner would find a role as great as Captain Kirk, but I also never expected...Denny Crane.

I've been watching repeats of The Prisoner recently. This must be one of the greatest (and strangest) shows ever.

For pure fun, the original Star Trek television series is hard to beat.

I've been watching repeats of The Prisoner recently. I never did get around to watching the remake, even though I had it on my dvr for months. Always loved the original, though. For pure fun, the original Star Trek television series is hard to beat. The spin-offs always had good stories, but never came close to being as much fun as the original. They never should've done away with the miniskirts, imo.

Favourite James Bond Films: The Dark Knight Trilogy, Mission: Impossible and any upcoming action films starring Pierce Brosnan (no, it's not James Bond which is good because he'll need it to expand his reputation as an actor, especially in the action realm)
Favourite Films: Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Star Trek, The Dark Knight Trilogy, Harry Potter, Middle-Earth, The Matrix, Mission: Impossible

TNG is more of a sequel than a spin-off. Technically, it's still considered a spin-off. (Such is the power of Shatner.) I've been watching a lot of TNG lately and it did have some really good stories. The animated Trek series is another that's a lot of fun. Great atmosphere, too. It also boasts one of the most unusual Trek episodes ("The Magicks of Megas-tu") in which Kirk must defend Satan- who was apparently just a misunderstood alien. I'm still not sure how they slipped that one past the censors for saturday morning cartoons.

I've never watched the new Battlestar Galactaca, but it sounds good. The original Star Trek series is wonderful with lots of thought provoking episodes and mysteries.
The Next Generation era with TNG, Deep Space Nine and Voyager is great too. What we need is a new Trek show set 50 years after Picard.

I'm currently watching Avatar: The Last Airbender. I was going to watch its movie adaptation (titled The Last Airbender), but with all those horrid reviews, I decided to do my TV homework and watch the original show online instead. So far I've finished almost half the series. Great show. Great fantasy. Great escapism. Fun for the whole family. And if you want to know, M Night Shamalamadingdong directs, produces, and writes the movie version.

I noticed The Last Airbender got awful reviews. That bloke who directed it (can't remember his name) has really gone off the boil since The Sixth Sense and Signs.

Do you have any nieces or nephews who watch Avatar: The Last Airbender? And it's M Night Shyamalan the one whose in charge of the movie version.

I noticed The Last Airbender got awful reviews. That bloke who directed it (can't remember his name) has really gone off the boil since The Sixth Sense and Signs. In the wake of Sixth Sense, he often boasted of knowing exactly what the audience wanted. (He even made comparisons to Hitchcock, who was usually pretty good in that department.) Then Unbreakable was released and more or less shattered that belief. If you look at his filmography since then, ironically, he's pretty much been lost in an attempt to figure out what audiences want to see from him. From goofy surprise twists ( Signs; The Village) to modern-day B movies ( The Happening) to fairy tales ( Lady in the Water; Last Airbender). ( Unbreakable opened with an onscreen text attempting to explain how popular comic books are. I can still remember watching that on opening night and immediately thinking, "Uh oh. This isn't going to connect with audiences." They had been sold another mystery ala Sixth Sense, but what they were about to get was a thinly-veiled sermon on why they should respect superheroes. Anyone who has ever been cornered by a fanboy knows how uncomfortable and awkward that argument can be.)

I always thought the worst thing about M Night Shyamalan was that he insisted on casting himself as an actor in his own films. I haven't seen anything since The Village but I really hope he doesn't do that anymore.

I'm still not sure how they slipped that one past the censors for Saturday morning cartoons. Hello, Thanks so much for mentioning this unique episode of the animated 'Star Trek' poirot! I bought the full DVD collection of the animated 'Star Trek' two years ago and have only watched three episodes. The premise of "The Magicks Of Megas-Tu" is absolutely 'fascinating' as Mister Spock would say. I don't remember seeing it yet. Many writers from the original live action 'Star Trek' contributed scripts to the animated series. Like it's predecessor...this half hour weekly piece of gold suffered from being in the wrong time slot. This version of Trek (like TOS) was very cerebral and intellectual. Kids watched it for the animation, aliens, ect, but adults missed out on an absolute gem of a television show!!! Take Care!
