I’ve been deliberating over what to say with regards this film as I’m looking to add some positivity to the many evident negatives.
Well........to say I’m struggling is an understatement. This is by far the worst Bond film ever made. An expensive budget was totally wasted on a poorly directed monstrosity of a movie. The story is bland and Craig delivers a performance more akin to Universal Solider than Bond.
I’m going to give this film 1 out of 10 based purely on the fact Olga Kurylenko is hot.

Finally after months of comments and voting from our loyal members we reach the current conclusion of Bond films. Quantum of Solace (2008) is the 22nd James Bond film by EON Productions and is the direct sequel to the 2006 film Casino Royale. Directed by Marc Forster, it features Daniel Craig's second performance as James Bond. In the film, Bond battles Dominic Greene (Mathieu Amalric), a member of the Quantum organisation posing as an environmentalist who intends to stage a coup d'état in Bolivia to take control of the nation's water supply. Bond seeks revenge for the death of his lover, Vesper Lynd (Eva Green), and is assisted by Camille Montes (Olga Kurylenko), who is also seeking revenge.
As usual please give a vote and add comments as usual.

Sorry guys, but no negative numbers regardless of how tempting. A '0' is the ultimate insult as it constitutes 0 out of 10 or more significantly 0%.

I’ve posted reviews of Casino Royale on more than one occasion. Each time I’ve wrote a review my opinion of the film tends to change. I suppose I’ve now had plenty of time to ascertain a more precise opinion. My current view is that the film has positives but far more negatives. Like many others, I liked the initial concept of the young Bond direction and accepted that a change of lead role was necessary to fulfil this. So with an ageing Brosnan despatched to the history books we were introduced to a surprising choice in Daniel Craig. The English born actor didn’t comply with the Fleming character as he lacked many of the physical traits that had become synonymous with James Bond. That said he set about improving his rather feeble physical appearance with an intense fitness regime that significantly enhanced his previous slender frame. Given the type of action film Casino Royale turned out to be the improved physique was definitely needed.
The film opens with a smart, although rather brutal black and white PTS that initially appears to set the tone of the film. It was the sort of opening that really opened the audience’s eyes and was a statement of intent by Eon that Daniel Craig is Bond. Personally, I enjoyed it and felt that Daniel had imposed himself and made a real impact.
Unfortunately, the impressive opening and cool title track are quickly replaced with a gloomy looking Bond and a rather mundane film. Daniel Craig has his moments but the retention of Dame Judi as M and the cringe worthy ‘young Bond’ aspect leave the film not really knowing what it wants to be. Craig doesn’t have the youthful looks required to portray such a character and for me this compounds the films frailties.
I’d give the film 6 out of 10. It could have been so much better with a different actor in the lead role – one who didn’t look so old.

Casino Royale (2006) is the twenty-first film in the James Bond series; it was directed by Martin Campbell and the first to star Daniel Craig as MI6 agent James Bond. Based on the 1953 novel of the same name by Ian Fleming, it was adapted by screenwriters Neal Purvis, Robert Wade, and Paul Haggis. It is the third screen adaptation (quite possibly the worst) of the Casino Royale novel, which was previously produced as a 1954 television episode and a 1967 satirical film. The film is set at the beginning of James Bond's career as Agent 007 (hard to believe given Bond's aged look), just as he is earning his license to kill. Please rate out of 10 and add comments as usual. I appreciate it's took a long time to get here, but I'm sure the comments will be worth it. Enjoy!!! p.s. I added '0' just in case.

I used to be quite critical of DAD and still consider it to be poor in comparison to the better Bond films. That said, I watched the film recently and enjoyed It far more than I thought I should. The PTS is good and Brosnan is in fine form.
DAD has some classic Bondian moments and I gave it an 8 out of 10.

I was on Broadway tonight to see a play. Before I did, I spent 30 minutes in a A Steady Pain's theatre at 5:30pm out of curiosity. Tickets were available for tonight's Saturday show. About 30 people were on line purchasing tickets and 27 of them were women ages 35-55. Only 3 men were on line out of 30. The success/failure of this nonsense will be driven by how many NYC women want to spend $130.00 to see these 2 on stage. Broccoli wants a Tony nomination for this. I recently visited NYC (first time) for a short break with the Mrs. Really enjoyed it. Whilst there, I got talking to the barman in our hotel and the conversation turned to the world of JB. It was interesting to hear him get all passionate about how DC was so wrong as Bond. Funniest thing was, he was atually trying to convince me.

Which one is Bond? Craig is a Ray Winstone lookalike.

I have read the reviews and they are great i see a lot of people do not like DC l wasnt too keen on him as well.CR was good until the casino scenes and that took forever to watch after that scene the film fell apart i have been on other JB websites and they loved DC's CR but they wernt keen on QOS.It was similar when i went to see the new star wars films they wernt as good as the original films. At least with Goldfinger it is light hearted fun l dont mind the vilonce but not to go over the top with it. I've friends who like DC's version of Bond (nothing wrong with that), but I was bitterly disappointed with his performance in CR. I felt the plot and storyline let him down with such a juvenile and raw interpretation of the character. I was (naively) under the impression that DC wasn't the reason for my disappointment of CR, but QOS cemented my opinion that Daniel Craig is not fit to wear the tux.

We'll soon see how the 2 films compare in our poll (remember to vote). yes our poll is more believable than IMDB right? with 99% voter are Craig hatters, i know already the result I would have thought that a non-partisan (which this site is) Bond forum with James Bond enthusiasts as members would provide a far more accurate Bond film rating. If the majority of the forum members choose to like or dislike any of the lead actors than that is their own prerogative, but it's certainly not a pre-requisite for joining the site.
