I have a theory about GoldenEye. To show their support for Daniel Craig his fans had to attack Brosnan's films. But, GoldenEye was directed by Martin Campbell and therefore could not be criticised. So in conclusion, GoldenEye has to be supported by certain fans. Your theory sounds flawed. The reason GE doesn't get as much heat as Brosnan's other films is because it has been considered his best for 13 years. I like it, but it still has its flaws, but it's solid. I however wish Dalton returned and that the film stuck true to the original script by Michael France, which I found more interesting. But anyway, I always liked GoldenEye and have always considered it the only good entry out of the Brosnan era, before and after CR came along. Another flaw on your theory is the whole "they can't criticize it because Campbell work on it too". That's weak. Very weak. I love The Living Daylights so should that mean I should also like A View to a Kill because it has the same director? No. Absolutely not.

"flat" is probably a good word to describe it for me I feel it tries far too hard to be such films as FRWL - which it's doomed to failure at achieving, and comes across instead, as a bit of a corny-feeling, homage, it's loud action, and big bases, don't really fit with it's FRWL-isms, the plot/script is rather baffling in places - and the least said about the music score, the better!! Pierce was BRILLIANT though!! ;D (sorry mate!, if this is one of your favourites - no offence! ) And then at the actual bottom of the list, is QOS - oooooooh!, it ain't pretty!! ............. (*shudder*) I look forward to your review of QOS FROSTY. Welcome to the forum. Thanks, mate! QOS review imminent! ;D

Here is go at a "Top 22". There is not much between the films, apart from the two Daniel Craig outings, which I can't get on with at the moment. 1. The Spy Who Loved Me 2. On Her Majesty's Secret Service 3. Goldfinger 4. From Russia With Love 5. Moonraker 6. The Living Daylights 7. Licence To Kill 8. Octopussy 9. You Only Live Twice 10. Thunderball 11. A View To A Kill 12. Live and Let Die 13. Dr. No 14. The World Is Not Enough 15. GoldenEye 16. Die Another Day 17. The Man With The Golden Gun 18. Diamonds Are Forever 19. For Your Eyes Only 20.Tommorow Never Dies 21. Casino Royale 22. Quantum of Solace Don't read too much into it - there is hardly any difference between 9- 20; and a big gap between 20 and 21.

I'm only talking about supporting GE to specifically back Campbell and CR, which many poisonous Brosnan haters suspiciously seemed to do. Maybe it's one for Mythbusters.

I dislike Brosnan's interepretation but I still like most of the film not just because of Campbell's direction, but the supporting cast and bits of writing that managed to be salvaged from the original Michael France script. Never had anything to do with supporting CR and there's no doubt many feel that way too. Kind of like how I don't like George Lazenby in the role, but I LOVE the film itself. Still, one thing is for certain: The video game adaption is actually more fun than the film. Come on, you have to admit that.
