Daniel Craig Embarrassed By Early Movie Roles Submitted on 01.18.2009 - 12:48:10 pm by Emma JAMES BOND star DANIEL CRAIG was so ashamed of some of his early films he would hide them away at movie rental stores. The Quantum of Solace actor admits some of his early roles were "crap" - and he would visit movie shops to try to get them taken off the shelves. He tells TV chat show host Jon Stewart, "There was a time when I’d go into Blockbusters (movie rental store) and if they had a film of mine on the shelf I used to throw it under the counter. I'm not sure. Apart from Tomb Raider & Bond he hasn't really made commericial films.

I can't really recall much of what he did prior to 2005. 'The Mother' looks a like a T.V. film. I'm surprised the media have'nt poked fun at that film with 'Bond Pulls Grannie' esq headlines. He was fine in a cameo in 'Road to Peridition' but totally forgettable in 'Tomb Raider'. He did a film with Rhys Evans and played an army sargent in a T.V. film. He was also appearing on T.V. in 'Archangel' . No doubt to help pay the rent !

I remember him in some boring BBC3 play just before he got James Bond. He's not even a filmstar really.

Interesting that Jesper Christensen who played Mr White said he was embarrassed by appearing in the last two Bond entries.

Eon have backed themselves into a corner because Bond 23 has to be brilliant now. QoS has damaged the reboot/Craig era.
