Favourite James Bond Films: The Dark Knight Trilogy, Mission: Impossible and any upcoming action films starring Pierce Brosnan (no, it's not James Bond which is good because he'll need it to expand his reputation as an actor, especially in the action realm)
Favourite Films: Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Star Trek, The Dark Knight Trilogy, Harry Potter, Middle-Earth, The Matrix, Mission: Impossible

Once ST comes out, I hope the new fans and general moviegoers will appreciate and respect the previous movies and TV shows rather than bashing them.

Star Trek fans are as bad as James Bond fans in bashing almost everything that has gone before. I enjoyed some of the recent Star Trek additions like Deep Space Nine quite a lot.

I hope the old ST movies will be shown on TV before the prequel comes out.

Most fans are harsh on the internet. I like to read background information and some discussion on my favourite movies and shows. But many fans analyze things too much and criticize everything. That can spoil some things.

I think Star Trek needed a reboot much more than Bond did.

I'm sure there was no place for him after Generations but it's a shame they couldn't find room for Shatner to make a cameo. I think he's upset not to be involved.

Shatner said that he regretted killing off Kirk.

I'm sure they could have come up with a way to get around it.

Shatner did, however, resurrect Kirk in one of his ST novels.

Reading between the lines, I think the producers felt Kirk's inclusion would overshadow the story and the movie. Nimoy as Spock is in the film and I think Shatner would have wanted a major role too. I would have loved to have seen the great man back, even in a cameo. Maybe he can come back in a sequel.

I wonder what would like if Christopher Nolan signs up to direct Star Trek XII.

He might have his hands full with Batman.

What about Star Trek XIII? I'm sure Nolan would be done with Batman by then.
