I'm still blown away that a screenwriter and playwright like Peter Morgan will work on the next Bond film. This is unbelievable. I mean, the other night I saw a scene from one of those costume dramas on PBS, I think it was a Jane Austen story or something and I realized that Bond 23 will be that intellectual. So it won't surprise me if it doesn't do all that well at the box office initially but then people will realize the new style of the series, then they'll be motivated to see it and this will guarantee a box office hit. I bet Eon has been doing some kind of marketing survey and it showed them that the public wants to see a serious drama for a Bond film. This next one could really be big, probably even bigger than movies like Revolutionary Road in terms of accolade and respect. My buddy Ron said that Bond 23 could be like the Transformers of the drama world. Then when you factor in Daniel Craig's take on the modern man through his version of Bond, the whole thing just becomes incredible to think about. He's just been too inspirational and now he's working with Peter Morgan. This is just unbelievable.

Favourite James Bond Films: The Dark Knight Trilogy, Mission: Impossible and any upcoming action films starring Pierce Brosnan (no, it's not James Bond which is good because he'll need it to expand his reputation as an actor, especially in the action realm)
Favourite Films: Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Star Trek, The Dark Knight Trilogy, Harry Potter, Middle-Earth, The Matrix, Mission: Impossible

Hey alvin, what do you think if Daniel Craig plays Michael Jackson in the MJ biopic?

I don't think the modern Eon have any idea of where to go or how to make a James Bond film. I wish they'd consider selling up to be honest.

So it won't surprise me if it doesn't do all that well at the box office initially but then people will realize the new style of the series, then they'll be motivated to see it and this will guarantee a box office hit. That's quite a bit of assumptions there, pal. But you don't have squat to back up anything you're asserting. What makes you think that a guy like this Morgan character will guarantee what you call an "intellectual" Bond film? The guy's in it for the cash and he's dictated by whatever the loons over at Eon demand. Besides, Eon brought in Paul Haggis in the last two, and he's one of those so-called esteemed screenwriters; but we know what a hack he turned out to be--especially with QOS, they had a troubled script development, and he had other loony ideas that Eon rejected. There's an article that explores all of this, but I can't remember where I read it. Again, an assumption without any support material. Besides, Eon started moving in the direction of what you call a serous Bond film with FYEO. Then we had the Dalton films, which took itself seriously, culminating in a dark thriller with LTK. In terms of mood and imagery, I'd say that film was the closest the series ever got to the Fleming books. GE also had some of that flair and certain scenes from the Brosnan films captured that spirit. So what you're babbling about is nothing new. Face it, pal. That's not going to happen. The respect and accolade for a Bond film was suppose to be geared for QOS--Eon hyped it that way, explaining painfully how the film was a deep serious Bond film and that the title was from a Fleming short story. Then came all the interviews where everyone from Craig to the janitor at Eon was basically attempting to explain the weird title in context to the film. Then came the multitude of bad reviews. QOS was about as artistic as a Van Damme action fest. Face reality. You're simply not going to get a drama in the next one. It absolutely makes no sense. A Bond film is an action film and, besides, Barbara Broccoli isn't done with copying the Bourne series. ;D What? So this crony of yours thinks Bond 23 will be a serious drama like Revolutionary Road and garner the box office figures of the latest Transformers film? Good luck with that. Again, more bland assumptions. Where are the stats that prove Craig has been inspirational? And who exactly finds him inspirational? Apart from you and the bigot linguist (who is obviously thick-faced because he's actually back at this forum), I don't see any other man walking around, eager to pursue the metrosexual dreams that you find in whatever the heck Craig is doing with the Bond character. I think that's what you're getting at here. You found a way to insert your urges to come out of the closet and you're projecting it onto Craig, "the modern man," as Bond. Dawg, I sense your struggle. My god son struggled for many years, and it was heartbreaking for his family, for me and my wife, to see him in pain. We all knew his real self. But one day he had the courage to face himself, and we're proud of him, and he's so much happier. You need to do the same, including your cronies. If you all find Craig's soft side and his metrosexual persona inspiring, then so be it. But don't go around fabricating stuff about the series to fit your struggles.

Purvis and Wade must be reaping the rewards for all those years they spent mowing Barbara's lawn.
