Favourite James Bond Films: The Dark Knight Trilogy, Mission: Impossible and any upcoming action films starring Pierce Brosnan (no, it's not James Bond which is good because he'll need it to expand his reputation as an actor, especially in the action realm)
Favourite Films: Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Star Trek, The Dark Knight Trilogy, Harry Potter, Middle-Earth, The Matrix, Mission: Impossible

Forget DC's Bond. It's all about Harry Potter in terms of British figures.

Good picture of Pierce. But needs to show his whole head.
There was talk about Angelina Jolie being in CR. But the producers changed their mind, saying it was DC's first film and they did'nt him overshadowed. I'm sure that would'nt have been the case with Brosnan or Owen. Jolie would have also wanted a meatier role than the bland Vesper.

You don't think that Peter Morgan writes arty stuff? He'll do to Bond 23 what he did to movies like The Queen and The Last King of Scotland. You also have to remember that Daniel Craig has a lot of input these days. He had a hand in the script for QOS, so that's why it had a arty feeling like those European films. It takes time to appreciate QOS but I believe people will realize it's a great film. Just because he wrote serious dramas doesn't mean he'll do the same thing with the next Bond film. And you obviously haven't noticed that all Eon cares about is how to park butts in theater seats, so you know they're not going to make a quiet Bond film with a serious story and character development. Chances are, they're going to jam the next one with action, just like what they did with your beloved QOS. Yeah, and the script was a dire mess. So obviously Craig's input (whatever it was) didn't do squat to improve things. Here's an article that chronicles the script development hell that QOS went through: n007.thegoldeneye.com/qos_script_chaos.htmlAnd how long will it take, Alvin, for this appreciation? About 2000 years? What is the actual process for everyone to appreciate QOS? Do we first give Daniel Craig a chance, as you've been babbling and then once we've done that, we move on to the slow adjustment to the appreciation for QOS? It's been about 5 years when he was announced as the new Bond, and you and your fellow Craig fanatics (based on your man-crush on Craig) have been urging everyone to give him a chance, and you're still doing it. Now here you are insisting that QOS takes time to appreciate. I don't give a hoot whether you, your cronies, or that biggot linguist is gay. What I don't like is how yo're going around projecting your personal issues into the Bond series and projecting your political views into this forum. First of, where's your proof that today's audience is more sophisticated then the audiences of the past? That's a bland generalization and completely insulting to generations of movie-goers. But I'll give you this: Barbara Broccoli reinvented the character all right. The character is so far now from what Fleming intended. He didn't create a gay-friendly spy, as you call it. Fleming was writing about a secret agent who could bed any woman he wanted. Where you and your Beavis and Butthead generation get off on this notion of Bond as some kind of metrosexual guy is beyond me. But obviously Eon understands your generation's mentality and stripped the screen Bond of any virility and basically tolerated all those headlines about him going metrosexual and being picky about his cosmetics, considering how they've never really countered those headlines. Which takes us to your next point... I hear you, pal. I know exactly where you're coming from. You're out there in the Leftist world. Believe me, I'm liberal about a number of things, but when I say "the Left" in context to you, I'm saying you're waaaaay out there in the Far-Left. I've read about how the Academic world has be taken over by wack-jobs and indoctrinating young people, but it looks like it's even worse than what I've been reading. I know your mentality, pal. Soon, you'll be saying (and God forbid) that Ward Churchill or Bill Ayres should write the next Bond film. You and your fellow progressives over at that wack-job university are all about subverting the "system." I get where you're coming from: you all got it in your heads that you're marginalized victims of traditional cultural values. So you go around opposing the establishment and replacing dead white male writers, oh say a like a Hemingway, with a marginalized gay, ethnic minority, or female writer, to assert that person and thereby overthrow the current system. At least on the level of the arts, that's what you're doing but that mentality basically goes all the way to your political views. So now here you are, celebrating that Eon has made the new Bond for everyone, so no one is left out, and that means overriding Fleming's Bond to make the screen character gay-friendly. But since when was everyone left out? The Bond films have always been catered to mainstream audiences. The character just happens to be a playboy heterosexual, so why can't you and your fellow progressives (and you all claim to be open-minded, which is why you are "liberal") can't accept that fundamental trait of the character? I don't know what this Peter Morgan is all about, or what his politics are. But one's political views certainly shape the individual. We saw what a disaster Paul Haggis was for the series. He's a known far-left loon with communist leanings, and he just didn't get the essence of what Bond was all about.

Yes, after seen the film, I'm grateful that EON not consider Clive to replace Brosnan I heard Shoot 'Em Up was terrible. Shoot Em Up was good fun. I'd recommend a watch. I agree with atticus that Barbara Broccoli has changed Bond. What a pity that Cubby left the series to a woman who seems to hate James Bond films. Barbara produces a few other bits such as the upcoming Jackman Craig Broadway play. Why didn't she make some new spy film with Daniel Craig as the spy. Then she could have carried on making James bond films with the James Bond character too.
