Favourite James Bond Films: The Dark Knight Trilogy, Mission: Impossible and any upcoming action films starring Pierce Brosnan (no, it's not James Bond which is good because he'll need it to expand his reputation as an actor, especially in the action realm)
Favourite Films: Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Star Trek, The Dark Knight Trilogy, Harry Potter, Middle-Earth, The Matrix, Mission: Impossible

Iron Man? I thought that was average. Downey was a standout in that flick but it just felt too by the numbers for me. Nothing beats TDK. That's for sure.

Iron Man gains an extra star if you've read the comics. It's very respectful of the source material.

"Quantum of Solace" has a hard target to beat as the previous film, "Casino Royale", smashed James Bond box-office records and brought in $594m globally. Daniel Craig's second outing as 007 has some advantages though: it will face less competition at the box-office, the shorter run time will allow more showings at theatres, and its delayed release in the US positions the film over the lucrative holiday season. The Royal World Premiere was held in Leicester Square in London on Wednesday 29th October 2008. Over £500,000 was raised for the two charities selected by Princes William and Harry. 55 regional charity premieres were held across the UK the next day on Thursday 30th October. "Quantum of Solace" has made box office history on its opening day in the UK, taking a staggering £4.94m. The latest installment from the longest running franchise in film history, has also beaten the opening day figure for the last Bond movie, Casino Royale, which took £2.9 million on its opening day. The film made box-office history for a second time on the same weekend as it opened to an incredible £15.4 million at the UK box-office making it the biggest weekend opening of all time. This smashes the previous record held by Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, which took £14.93 million over the same period. Daniel Craig's second outing as 007 becomes the most successful opening of any Bond film ever as it has also beaten the opening weekend figure for the last Bond movie, Casino Royale, which took £11.4 million on its opening weekend.

Wow. Looks like BJ's original prediction of QOS immediately flopping because CR only benefited from curiosity factor is not really the case. But I also noticed he changed goal posts and said it will open big but not last. If it does last what's the next prediction BJ? Bond 23's run at the box office being the truer indicator of what people think of Craig's Bond, just like it when you originally said for QOS's run?

Has Quantum done well at the box office. I'm a bit confused after reading various pieces on the film's box office performance.
Some say it's a flop because of the huge amount money spent on the budget and marketing has eaten into the profits.

I'd imagine Sony wished Quantum of Solace had been given a lower marketing and production budget.
