In the last few years, we have had Rocky, Rambo, Indiana Jones and John McClane brought back. Can you think of any other characters you would like to see brought back?
I'm talking about bringing back the character with the original actor.

Favourite James Bond Films: The Dark Knight Trilogy, Mission: Impossible and any upcoming action films starring Pierce Brosnan (no, it's not James Bond which is good because he'll need it to expand his reputation as an actor, especially in the action realm)
Favourite Films: Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Star Trek, The Dark Knight Trilogy, Harry Potter, Middle-Earth, The Matrix, Mission: Impossible

What about Dirty Harry?

He could still do that! I think he prefers to expend his energy and time on his own projects now. They could make another Lethal Weapon film - not something I would like to see though.

Hello,
Provided the script was excellent and there was a decent director (maybe Ridley Scott?)...I'd love to see Sigourney Weaver reprise her classic role as Lt. Ellen Ripley in a new "Aliens" movie!!!! ;D
Take Care!

I was going to suggest some new Harry Palmer movies with Caine, but remembered they made some Palmer TV movies with him a few years back.

What about another Naked Gun movie with Leslie Nielsen returning as Frank Drebin?

What about another Naked Gun movie with Leslie Nielsen returning as Frank Drebin? I'm all for that, provided O.J. Simpson WILL NOT be reprising his supporting role! Take Care!

Talk of a new film with Ridley at the helm has done the rounds for the past few years so I can't see this one coming off. I once wrote down a few ideas as to how they could carry on with another film in the series, but none of them were very convincing. I think the course has been run with this one.

Alien 3 wrecked that franchise. I was furious when they killed off Newt and Hicks.

Kurt Russell as Snake Plissken There's a cult following for the character, and plans for an Escape From New York remake appear to have stalled. Just as well, since the only "Snake" film anyone wanted to see was with Russell. He could easily portray an older version of the character, and wouldn't be that expensive to get.
Mel Gibson as "Mad" Max Rockatansky This possibility may have died with Gibson's drunken arrest, but it would likely still have an audience. I think it's far more interesting to see an older interpretation of a character than a reboot/remake, and Mad Max is another that pretty much screams to be portrayed in his late 50s.
Harrison Ford as Jack Ryan Technically, Alec Baldwin was the first screen Ryan, but most still associate the role with Ford. This would be a good way to follow up the success of Indy 4, and is the type of mature action role that audiences like to see Ford play.

I think Simon Templar is due a decent film for the big screen. I discount that awful mess with Val Kilmar from the nineties. Terrible.

How about bringing back Detective Axel Foley? Eddie Murphy could desperately do with a hit film before he vanishes altogether and they could make it an adult film more in the style of the first one with comedy swearing and a lot of action.

How about bringing back Detective Axel Foley? I think this is already in production, with Brett Ratner expected/attached to direct. I'd love to see it happen, but I'm also not sure how well it can be updated. Audiences today seem to be in love with qualities like "gritty" and "realistic", but can you do that to Axel Foley without losing his charm? The first two films (especially the first one) were definitely products of the 1980s. They certainly didn't represent a very realistic look at police work. Also, Murphy is nearing 50, so I'm not sure how believable he'd be as a brash, foul-mouthed operator.

According to AIC Lethal Weapon 5 is now a possibility.
