Brosnan just signed up for a big new FX film but I can't remember what it was. It looks like the Thomas Crown sequel is no nearer to being produced.

Speaking to Moviehole Brosnan said: ”We are full steam ahead. If we do not have it by this year, then we shall just say we gave a best effort. But Mary Parent is a magnificent supporter of the piece. Mr Paul Verhoeven is still with us as a director and we have great executives over there at MGM now, who are passionate to make this film. So, we have a fabulous writer.”

It'll hardly be worth it if they leave it much longer. The first film wasn't a classic really but there was a window of opportunity to make a sequel more like Bond and play up on Brosnan's old 007 image.

Would rather see Brosnan in a 'Never Say Never Again' esq rival Bond movie. He's the right age and has the charm to play an ageing smoothly with aplomb. NSNA was'nt perfect but it was still great to see Sean doing the business. Does Brosnan have the rights to call himself James Bond in another film ?

No one else can use the James Bond name in a movie. Only Dame Barbara has that right. Now that Eon try to distance themselves from the typical Bond elements, someone could make a traditional Bond movie. The spy could be called "John Baker", or something similar. That would be rather fun.

I'm sure people are allowed to make films and call themselves James. Maybe Brosnan could make a film where he's just called James, or John Bond etc.

George Lazenby once appeared in a Man From Uncle film next to an Aston Martin with a JB number so it they might get away with it.

Would Brosnan want to appear in an unsubtle Bond spoof?

If it's good enough for Connery....
Would'nt have to be a spoof. Just an alternative version. Everyone said Brosnan was good enough for at least one more & Brosnan was desperate to carry on. He's a big enough star to get a decent director and supporting cast.

This is a pic of Lazenby's 'Bond' cameo in 1983.

Favourite James Bond Films: The Dark Knight Trilogy, Mission: Impossible and any upcoming action films starring Pierce Brosnan (no, it's not James Bond which is good because he'll need it to expand his reputation as an actor, especially in the action realm)
Favourite Films: Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Star Trek, The Dark Knight Trilogy, Harry Potter, Middle-Earth, The Matrix, Mission: Impossible
