I think Brosnan left Bond in good health, and whoever played Bond in Casino Royale would have been a success. I agree that CR would probably been successful regardless of lead actor.

If Bond 22 gets high admissions? From a personal stand point I couldn't care less. If the BO receipts are record breaking, I'm sure many Pro-Craigers will praise 'King' Craig to the hilt. For the minority of Bond fans who are not overwhelmed by DC, Bond 22 will not be well received regardless of performance. For me, I hope Craig displays the charm and refinement that was so evident in his predecessors and so lacking in CR. If Bond 22 dies a death at the theatre, we can expect the lame excuses to come to the fore. Hello, I'm with you, Mr. Skywalker. I am continually baffled by my feelings towards Daniel Craig. Without question...he's a greatly gifted actor. Will Bond 22 please everyone? Probably not. I am a skeptic optimist for Mr. Craig's next outing. I would also very much like to see him be suave, debonair, and more refined. Maybe Daniel could go for lunch with Timothy Dalton and ask his advice how to reflect Fleming and at the same time deliver a James Bond that we recognize and have loved all these years! Take Care! I'd love to be a guest at that restaurant when Craig asks Timothy how to play Bond, being as he failed so miserably at it in CR.

I'd leave Moneypenny out of the Craig era. They might as well make it as distinctive as possible. I think a good Moneypenny would be a welcome addition. A new M would be nice along with Q.

Helena Bonham-Carter would be fine as Moneypenny - but I'm not sure she would want to do that. She does have a tendency to choose rather quirky roles.

Over on another site a topic was raised discussing the probability of a new Moneypenny. If she is to return, I'd love to see Helena Bonham Carter in the role. I think she would have good chemistry with DC.
As for a Bond girl, I'd just go for another good looking unknown.

I think Moore's humour was unique to him. His delivery and facial expressions were comic genius. IMO Craig will be more dry and on the verge of sarcasm. Hello, Please don't get me wrong, Skywalker. I am a Roger Moore fan, also...I grew up with him as 007. I'm not out to criticize someone I have so much respect for. Even the campiest elements of some of Sir Rog's Bonds bring back fond memories...nobody but Mr. Moore could've pulled them off. I like your theory that Daniel Craig's humour will be "sarcastic", and as I mentioned "dark one-liners" similar to Connery. Take Care! I wasn't inferring you were criticizing Sir Rog, just agreeing with your post.

CRAIG: 'NEXT BOND FILM WILL BE FUNNIER' Contactmusic.com I have a theory about Daniel Craig's comments about the next Bond film being funnier. I don't think he means a "Roger Moore style" of funny. For example, the infamous Tarzan yell from Octo*%ssy, or the California Girls song from "A View To A Kill". Perhaps when he says "they want more gags" he's referring to the dark, humorous one-liners Sean Connery perfected and pulled off so well: Dr. No: "I think they were on their way to a funeral." Thunderball: "My friend's going to sit this one out...she's just dead." or "I think he got the point." I could be wrong...but I can't see Daniel Craig doing anything campy in Bond 22. Take Care! I think Moore's humour was unique to him. His delivery and facial expressions were comic genius. IMO Craig will be more dry and on the verge of sarcasm.

I think all the noises from Eon suggest it will be more of the same (i.e, more like CR than a traditional Bond film). If it's more of the same, Craig could be the oldest Juvenile OO Agent in the history of Fleming fiction.

If Bond 22 is more lighter in tone, will this be too far removed from CR? For me the gap in style would be a bridge too far.

I wouldn't buy him as a suave, sophisticated 007. So in essence you do not see him as Bond then.

CRAIG: 'NEXT BOND FILM WILL BE FUNNIER' Contactmusic.com JAMES BOND star DANIEL CRAIG insists fans will see a different side to him in the next 007 film - he's going to be funnier. The actor excelled in the dramatic scenes of last year's Bond blockbuster Casino Royale - but admits he is excited at the prospect of trying to add a lighter touch to the next movie. He says, "They (the producers) just want more gags. The next one's going to a lot funnier. Octugirl thingy and girl thingy Galore style gags." www.contactmusic.com/news.nsf/article/craig%20next%20bond%20film%20will%2... I certainly hope he is more refined. Like James mentioned, it will be interesting to see if Craig can add the comedic touch to his style of Bond. He's a great actor so in theory he should be able to, but I don't think it's his strength

Arnold Vosloo would make a great villian - it's a shame he wasn't in Die Another Day! You may think I'm mad, but I always thought that he would be a great James Bond as well in about 2000. You've not convinced me.

Welcome to the forum. I agree Vosloo would make a 'good' bad guy. He was considered for a villain in DAD. It's a shame they didn't get him on board. I thought he was excellent in 24.
