www.contactmusic.com/news.nsf/article/fans%20blast%20new%20bond%20theme_1081121BOND - FANS BLAST NEW BOND THEME Movie fans have branded the theme song for QUANTUM OF SOLACE the worst BOND theme ever. The opening track for the hotly anticipated follow-up to Casino Royale, starring Daniel Craig, was unveiled on several British radio stations earlier this week. But it has been mauled my fans and music critics alike. Written by White Stripes frontman Jack White and singer Alicia Keys, the song, Another Way To Die, was blasted by one fan as sounding like a "shopping list" of violence. Another said White and Keys' different singing styles "don't gel" on the track, while music critic Todd Martens added: "The first mistake was mimicking an iconic score with some electric guitars and modern effects, which is always, always, always a bad idea."

Maybe Pierce should do the next theme. He got rave reviews for his singing in Mama Mia. ;D I read the other day that the film has overtaken Die Another Day to become the biggest grossing movie Brosnan has been associated with. Women are going to multiple screenings and singing along to the songs. Wild horses couldn't drag me in.

That song is frankly pathetic. It's almost as if they couldn't be bothered and knocked it up over an afternoon. I really hope the song that Ronson and Winehouse recorded surfaces somewhere and puts this one to shame.

Not sure about Elton John. Martin Fry would be better. Tom Jones?

Run Lola Run was a good film. I watched that at about 3 in the morning last year. It's good fun.

He's only about 50 now. He's French isn't he? He must have done a convincing British accent for Eon to consider him.

I must be the only person who doesn't mind Madonna's DAD theme. How about Shirley Bassey? Does she still sing?

I suppose he was the latest model then just as Craig is now. I thought George was very good in his film especially as he wasn't really an actor.

entertainment.oneindia.in/hollywood/top-stories/scoop/2008/george-lazenby-james-bond-130808.htmlLazenby became arrogant after bagging 007 role London (ANI): Actor George Lazenby became so arrogant after bagging James Bond's role in 'On Her Majesty's Secret Service' in the 1960s that he ignored the edicts on how he should dress and conduct himself in public, and thereby made the film's backers furious. He turned up at the premiere for the film sporting a beard and an earring, which was quite irksome for the producers. Lazenby was convinced that the main reason he had been cast as Bond was because he was the most suitable person for it. "I had a lot of fun playing James because it was an extension of the role I was playing in real life. I was getting Hollywood starlets, booze and drugs passed to me left right and centre," the Daily Express quoted him as saying of his boorish behaviour in the late Sixties. "It was easy. I liked all the things Bond liked casinos, beautĀiful women, the good life. I was cocksure, confident and I knew how to survive. In a way I became James Bond," he said. One big mistake he committed was cutting himself off from the glamorous role following monumentally poor advice that continuing to portray James Bond would forever typecast him. After that, no one wanted to know him, and it all led to a life of obsecurity. Lazenby is presently estranged from his 46-year-old former tennis champion wife Pam Shriver, and set to embark on a highly damaging court action for custody of their three children George, aged four, and twins Caitlin and Samuel, two after six years of marriage. He says that he loves his children very much, and will be seeking their sole legal and physical custody. Shriver wants him to have only supervised visits, and has filed a divorce claim citing "irreconcilable differences" with Lazenby, whom she met a year after the death of her first husband, Disney lawyer Joe Shapiro, in 1999.

What are the chances of Broccoli taking a backseat or a break when her beloved Danny is through with the role?

Thought Bond was supposed to be a spy with a gun in his pocket. Not a massive machine gun in his hand. An intention might be to draw in more fans of other action films. It all confirms the theory that Craig and the reboot are more for people who don't particurly like the James Bond series of films produced from 1962 to 2002.
