It would certainly shake things up if Daniel walked the plank. The search for Bond in 2005 was a lot of fun to follow and read about, even if the final result didn't do much for me.

Favourite James Bond Films: The Dark Knight Trilogy, Mission: Impossible and any upcoming action films starring Pierce Brosnan (no, it's not James Bond which is good because he'll need it to expand his reputation as an actor, especially in the action realm)
Favourite Films: Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Star Trek, The Dark Knight Trilogy, Harry Potter, Middle-Earth, The Matrix, Mission: Impossible

I remember reading it was Bana, then Owen, then Brosnan was coming back. Daniel Craig was a huge anti-climax.

I still think if Craig has a big hit outside the franchise he'll be less likely to stay for very long.

Next summer's "Cowboys And Aliens" starring Craig and Harrison Ford is sure to be a huge hit. It's based on a graphic novel so the possibilities for sequels are endless. Also, with Daniel starring in "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo"...that also has franchise potential as it is based on a series of very popular books. If Daniel Craig has over-commited himself to other projects, could Michael and Babs possibly sue him? Craig's signed to do three Bonds! (Breach Of Contract) I don't think it's a breach of contract though. A legal battle back from 1989 through 1994 between MGM and EON delayed what was supposed to be Timothy Dalton's third outing as 007. Dalton's contract had a time span that eventually expired and he stepped down in 1994, wanting to do other projects...and wanted to get as far away from James Bond as possible. Take Care!

I don't think it would come to that, either. If they should end up failing to make a 2012 release date, Craig will probably just leave since his contract will be due to expire anyway.

If they can't get a film out in 2011 or 2012 (at the latest ) it must be the end of DC. It would be ridiculous if Bond 23 was five years after his previous entry. Just reboot the series with a younger actor.

What about reboot the franchise with new actors but also new settings and new people taking charge? Look at Batman Begins. Besides new actors, there are new settings (different and realistic Gotham City) and new people taking charge (Nolan).

Most of us here would enjoy that but with Barbara in charge you'll get more of the same with the same team.

Also we got the same with Star Trek 2009 where we have new people taking charge (Abrams) and the alternative universe.
