Favourite James Bond Films: The Dark Knight Trilogy, Mission: Impossible and any upcoming action films starring Pierce Brosnan (no, it's not James Bond which is good because he'll need it to expand his reputation as an actor, especially in the action realm)
Favourite Films: Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Star Trek, The Dark Knight Trilogy, Harry Potter, Middle-Earth, The Matrix, Mission: Impossible

Some would argue that ir should have been toned down a bit in places. I would take the opposite view, and argue that it should have celebrated the fact it was an over the top Bond movie even more. The Ice Palace set was wonderful, and could have been used for the final scenes. The plane setting could have been replaced by another base; this could have been the chance to send James Bond back into outer space.

What can we replace the para surfing with? That's the part I had weird feeling about.

I thought TWINE is the darkest of the Brosnan films. DAD does have a gritty start when Bond gets the torture.

For DAD they should have removed the CGI and the more wince inducing innuendo and cast a better villain. The plane sequence at the end should have been discarded for something else.

I love the innuendo! I agree with Dominic that the Ice Palace should have been used in the finale. I agree with FormerBondFan that they should have discarded the para surfing bit.

DAD does have it's moments and I feel that the torture scene was far better than the one in CR. Like already mentioned the Para-surfing was a definite weak spot and the film tailed off badly at the end.

How would you make DAD better? Hello, How would I make DAD better? Hmmmm.... I would leave the first part of the film pretty much intact. That is, right up to and including the scene where Pierce (Bond) is on the plane with "London Falling" blaring on the soundtrack. The movie then gets more and more far fetched. The connection between Col. Moon and Gustav Graves would have to be more plausible. How could a North Korean become a well spoken, handsome, British acting philanthroper and psychotic? it couldn't just be genetic splicing and only physical. I would flesh that out more. Miranda Frost would also have a bigger role....and Halle Barry would have better dialogue. The scenes at Graves' ice palace and the "Icarus" concept would be more realistic as well! Other than that...I would leave it the way it is! Take Care!

I agree with everything you said, but what about the para surfing scene? How would you make that better? Hello, Good question! I would've come up with a really exciting escape for Bond that could've been done by a very good stuntman. The surfers at the beginning of DAD definately showed they could ride a wave...I would've had a stuntman as 007 riding the melting waters, and used CGI or blue screen to add some fantastical elements. If the budget was getting too tight, I would've written a different yet still exciting escape! Take Care!

DAD was never dull and was entertaining enough. Loads of big budget action. Good to see 'Q' and 'Moneypenny' (hopefully not for the last time) & Pierce was still great. Loved it when Bond walked into the hotel in his pyjamas. However things seemed to go downhill from there. Improvements could have been making the story a bit easier to follow. I've seen the film more than once and still get lost. However that is nothing new for a Bond film. The sword fight with Graves was a bit pointless. They could have cut that out and developed the story. The story and action could have been been more realistic, keeping with the tone of the first half an hour. The action was decent enough, apart from the poor CGI during Pierce surf's to safty. Halle Berry was a bit pointless. Bond could have done the job without her help. The film could have focused more on Bond and his revenge and cut the scenes between Bond and 'Jinx'.
