I'm going to contact Julian Mcmahon's agent. We could be onto a box-office smash here.

I didn't get that one either. Was it really a choice of Craig or DAD 2? Yes. There was no other option. It was Craig or Julian Mcmahon para-surfing next to an invisible double-taking pigeon.

Welcome to the biggest and best James Bond forum on the web Mr Stock. Well, the newest anyway.

Here's how you can tell it wasn't the big gamble everyone made it out to be: EON took it. Even if CR had only drawn half of the business they had been getting, they would've still turned a profit. They also had two backup plans ready to go: They could've gotten Brosnan back for one more outing, or fallen back on a more traditional (gadgets and stunts) Bond film. This was a far different situation than when Goldeneye debuted. If it had flopped, it would've meant two actors had failed to replace Moore (who would've also been unable to return). Also, why were Dench and Arnold back? Shouldn't they have been shown the door when Brosnan was ejected? That's a good point Nick. They even threw poor old John Cleese overboard too, although his extreme height may have been a problem in CR.

Don't forget Prince Caspian. Narnia? I never got around to seeing the first one.

All of Pierce's Bond(except Tomorrow Never Dies due to Titanic) were #1 at the box office, and CR wasn't. That's true and the fact that CR made about $160 million in the US suggests the hype machine didn't quite roll over America. The last Jason Bourne film is up to $220 million already in the US and still in the top ten making money. Bond though is exceptionally popular in other markets. Just out of interest, what else opens in november 2008?

What are the chances of Madagascar 2 taking the top spot away from Bond 22? Probably very good in the US. Bond is more of a worldwide brand that generally does ok in the US.

I'm not really bothered about big names. Eva Green was alright in the last one but she didn't have an awful lot to do.

Did anyone else buy David Arnold's Shaken and stirred Album from several years ago?

Muse would do a good Bond theme but I doubt they'll be asked. Or be interested.

I think with actors like Moore and Brosnan, James Bond was the apex of their career and they loved it and the security it brought. I think Craig is different. He wants a career after Bond and while he is still relatively young.

Swiss director Marc Forster has signed to direct the next James Bond film. His films include Monster's Ball - which won an Oscar for Halle Berry - and Finding Neverland. Other credits include Stay and Will Ferrell comedy Stranger Than Fiction. He hasn't directed an action film before.

James Purefoy as Simon Templar? I'll have a look if it ever turns up on television. That recent Robin Hood series on the BBC - in addition to being rubbish - was not helped by the miscasting of Robin Hood.
