The six year break didn't do them any harm in 95 but I think it would be risky to go too long without making a film. I don't think something like a ten year break would be a good idea if they could possibly avoid it.

Favourite James Bond Films: The Dark Knight Trilogy, Mission: Impossible and any upcoming action films starring Pierce Brosnan (no, it's not James Bond which is good because he'll need it to expand his reputation as an actor, especially in the action realm)
Favourite Films: Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Star Trek, The Dark Knight Trilogy, Harry Potter, Middle-Earth, The Matrix, Mission: Impossible

I can live without Bond for a decade.

James Bond is dead. Star Trek lives long and prosper.

I think the Craigster will do one more and then try and do a runner.

If it's beyond 2012 it wouldn't make much sense to bring him back anyway.

I personally hope Cowboys & Aliens is a huge blockbuster. DC will get more work in higher profile films, make more money, and probably decide he doesn't want to spent the rest of his forties making James Bond films that may or may not be as bad as QoS.

With Bond or not, Pierce can still do high profile movies in this day and age if only there's a right script and director.

Ghost Writer and Percy Jackson were quite big films. Ghost Writer is a big film for big film events, not for the general audience like Percy Jackson is. The reviews for Percy Jackson weren't that great. Pierce deserves a huge blockbuster that will top GoldenEye (his last great blockbuster) in terms of excellent reviews.
