Favourite James Bond Films: The Dark Knight Trilogy, Mission: Impossible and any upcoming action films starring Pierce Brosnan (no, it's not James Bond which is good because he'll need it to expand his reputation as an actor, especially in the action realm)
Favourite Films: Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Star Trek, The Dark Knight Trilogy, Harry Potter, Middle-Earth, The Matrix, Mission: Impossible

What about Mama Mia? That was a big film. Yes but Pierce wasn't well received due to his singing. Of all the blockbusters he did during and after Bond, none of them surpassed GE in terms of reviews. Being the best and most popular Bond since Sean, Pierce deserves better than this, especially after the unfair dismissal from EON and with all those bashings from those Pro-Craig minions.

Of all the blockbusters he did during and after Bond, none of them surpassed GE in terms of reviews. The Thomas Crown Affair was just as well-received as GoldenEye. It even managed good reviews a decade later for its blu-ray debut. That's no easy feat for a remake. What Brosnan really appears to want at this stage of his career is critical acceptance, and he's steadily achieved that over the last several years. If he wanted to do a big blockbuster, we'd have already seen him in a Bond-ish action flick or even Thomas Crown 2. At the very least, we'd have heard about him actively campaigning for big-budget roles. Instead, he's gone the other way and appears to be quite happy with the results. Brosnan appearing in a huge blockbuster isn't going to silence fanboys that don't already like him. Most fanboys don't even have that much love for the average blockbuster anyway, and tend to dismiss nearly all of the biggest moneymakers of the past decade (ie. Pirates of the Caribbean; Transformers; Star Wars prequels; Avatar; Shrek; etc.) If it's not something they consider dark or serious, they have a tendency to think it's either beneath them or little more than a Hollywood cash-grab.

I was hoping Mamma Mia would get excellent reviews, but Pierce wasn't well received because of his singing. And I was hoping the same thing for Percy Jackson, but it got mixed reviews. If there any definite blockbusters out there for Pierce, that would either be from Chris Nolan or Tarantino especially. They may not be making over $400 million, but all it matters are excellent reviews. All these years since his horrible dismissal from Bond, I've been hoping he do a mainstream blockbuster that is better than GE. Thomas Crown Affair may be a blockbuster, but it's not as mainstream as GE. I don't care much about box office returns, but as mentioned earlier, what matters most are excellent reviews. As a Brosnan loyalist, I wouldn't want GE to be the last great mainstream blockbuster he did.

Brosnan is bound to do one more action/adventure film before he is completely past it. Charles Bronson was in his seventies and still doing action roles!

Pierce is never too old to do another action film (something he hasn't done since After The Sunset). Let's not forget. There are actors out there older than Pierce still doing action roles. Liam Neeson, Samuel L. Jackson.....heck even Tommy Lee Jones is doing action roles, and MIB 3 is on its way.

Back on DC subject, how much will both Cowboys & Aliens and The Girl With Dragon Tattoo make at the box office?

Both Cowboys and Aliens and Girl with a Dragon Tattoo will be awesome at the box office. I'm thinking something like what Avatar made. Then the movies will go on to be the starting point for big franchises, bigger than Harry Potter and that Twilight series. You know Daniel could be the most powerful actor ever because he'll have franchises back-to-back, starting with his on-going Bond reboot series. He's just at a point now where nothing can stop him.

Cowboys and Aliens sounds like quite good fun from what I've heard about it.

It's just a shame that Robert Downey Jr had to drop out. I'm looking forward to another Sherlock Holmes anyway.

Sherlock Holmes was more like Bond than Bond is now.

There are a few gadgets shown in Downey, Jr.'s SH.

There was a Bond style henchman in SH too. The general mix of action and (some) comedy was more like the Bond series used to be.

Downey, Jr.'s SH is more tongue-in-cheek than Rog's Bond.
